  1. Re: Newbie preparing for ceramic coating - (CQUARTZ UK 3.0)

Grab these. You can use them for everything. I would actually buy 3 dozen for that gig, 4 would be better. Hell, the more the merrier.
Sounds like a lot but it isn't when you are doing a coating job...

This is what I used, nothing fancy. Clean them good and wipe down with mineral spirits before spraying.

Re: Mother's Clay Kit vs. Meguiar's Clay Kit

I prefer the Mothers. I used the Meguiars once and it just felt weird like chewed bubble gum, then again I use Mothers all the time.

Both are good. Mothers is usually a little cheaper.

Yes, Rustoleum spray paint for plastic wheel wells....just an option, but more permanent than most.

    Re: BlackWow

Maybe not what you want to hear but Rustoleum black semi-gloss looks pretty good in wheel wells.

Just yesterday I scrubbed a 2011 Outback plastic cladding by hand. I just wanted to clean it good...
  6. Re: What is all over my paint and how do I safely remove it?

    Bee poop.

Let them soak for a second and wipe away. It usually takes a few attempts.
  7. Re: Recomendation for shop lighting and buffer trails questions

I would say the interior lighting is the magic ingredient.

You can never have enough lights. I can't have the garage door open because the glare washes everything out.

In the process. Dave got back to me.
I need to go through my cleaning process so I am able to feel the definite difference.

    Good idea.

Better than the one I had where I just bought 4 more of each to pique my curiosity.
Oh well I need more anyway

Re: LC orange pads losing stiffness?

I noticed this when I bought 6 white and 6 orange LC 5.5" Force Hybrids.
They are no where near the same feel as the others, wet or dry. More like 3 soft and 3 firm in each batch.
    I didn't want to...

6 months is a real world estimate. I have gone through a few tubes already.

    Re: Glasweld for headlights?

I think we all would have tried it by now if the necessary UV curing lamp wasn't $300.00.

Gclear at 8 ounces for $60.00 does seem tempting considering Opti-Lens is $70.00 for 10cc

The Mothers California Gold clay kit is a steal at under $20. Available in a pinch many places in town.

Re: CarPro Reset or Megs HyperWash?

This is exactly what I do, although most times it's Reset since I usually do rinseless and my cars are coated with UK3 and Gliss.
If someone elses car, not coated, I will use HyperWash.

    And I...

    Re: ckquartz uk 3.0 suede?

I just did a 2017 Outback this weekend. I just looked at the used 4 x 4s. I used 3 for the first coat and 2 for the second. Maybe 2 for Gliss.
So yeah, you can make it work.

    If you have enough...

    Re: Menzerna Confusion

    Dark BMW??
Yeah, HC400 tapered with orange or white LC pad(or similar) and I would go 3800 with white for the finish sparkle. That's just me and not knowing what's up with the paint.

Re: Sonax bsd the most hydrophobic spray lsp?

    Re: Remove swirls by hand

A cleaner wax may be a better option.
Doing a light polish might be okay by hand but anything with more cut may lead to a bunch of holograms and circles on the paint.
