Re: Big Block 64 Olds Super 88

No Holley, OEM carb would be the Rochester 4Jet 4GC, which later evolved in to the Quadrajet (by going to a spreadbore design and vac secondaries among other tweaks).

    These carbs have a plastic...

Re: Big Block 64 Olds Super 88

If there has been gas sitting in the system that long, you'll need to do more than just clean the carb, the whole fuel system incl. tank would need to be flushed/cleaned.

    More specific to the...

That would be the 394 Skyrocket IIRC.

Olds always had great names for their motors.

Re: What would you do, 74 Javelin AMC?

That is only if the "dirt" adds to the provenance of the car ... e.g. the car was owned by someone famous/infamous and stored for ages, the cars were bought and stored (by dealer or other) from Day...

    Re: First Post

I've not heard that one. The only thing remotely similar I have heard is to add 1/2 oz of rinseless to your car wash solution to act as a water softener (ex. Uber Rinseless suggests this).
  6. Re: Would one of the coats work well as an anti-fog for SCUBA?

Light solution of baby shampoo and water.

Do you dive in the old quarries down in Circleville ? I could tell you horror stories about that place (when it was Sturm & Dillard).

Re: What would you do, 74 Javelin AMC?

AMX's were built from '68 to '70 and had the 390 ci engine.

From '71 to '74 the car became the Javelin AMX and the 390 was replaced with a 401 aka "401 to Go" package, which is what this car...

Re: 2020 pearl white Honda Accord

You should go with the 3D One as with just this single product it will allow you to do all sorts of paint correction and defect removal, from heavy to light, and you control its action simply by the...

Re: Your thoughts on 15,000 mile oil changes..

I'll echo the sentiment that for ~$40 every 3K miles, it's worth it for the peace of mind.

Also, I like Krex' graphite oil lubricant. Do not confuse it with additives which can change the oil...

  11. Re: Is there a sealant like product for black plastic. Rear truck bumpers, running boards, etc.

I've not used it, but on CarPro's web page for DLUX, they imply it can be used on interior ... note the # INTERIOR.

To be safe, I'd contact them for more info/recommendations.

That "detailer" seems to think that efflorescence can occur on car paint.

  16. Re: Dull Tail Light Tint... Anything I Can Do?

No, I've only used it on things like clear plastic instrument panel gauge lenses. It is one of a few plastic "polishes" that does not contain any abrasives.
  17. Re: Quickest application and longevity of protection

Closest thing to that 10 Minute Paint Sealant that is sold on AG is this :

Re: Car Interior Mold and Mildew Mitigation

Note that mold is parasitic and will not grow directly on an inorganic surface such as glass. For example, mold growing on a glass shower door is most likely growing on scum that is on the glass.

    Re: Show us your pet.

Nice 'Dobe, Justin. I had a red 'Dobe for 14 years, she was a real horse at 85 lbs. They need a good bit of exercise and will eat you out of house & home.

Whoever cropped the ears did a nice job.

Re: Would you use these towels again?

Now that is super impressive, drying that whole sedan with just one side of a 16x16 PFM ! I usually need to use (1) 25x35 PFM + (1) 16x16 PFM to get everything dry.
