Re: Is this normal for a new tire?

I clean new tires with Tarminator and all that gunk comes right off. I do that right after using a blade to remove all tire nibs and excess rubber from the molding. Then wash as usual and when done...

    Re: Biggest Pet-Peeves in Detailing?

My car is almost 3.5 years old and not once did I roll down the windows to clean that last 1/4” that tucks in. Maybe because I never open my windows so I don’t see it?

I also never moved the car...
  3. Re: Griot's Garage G15/G21 Long-Throw Orbital Polisher *Ground-Up Redesign*

They shipped some of the new G21 but i think that is halted due to people having backing plate issues. While they try to address that issue, nothing is shipping, neither G15 nor G21. I believe the...

    First picture is my vote.

    Thanks for your service.
  5. Re: Still have some questions on Geyon Product Comparisons

Only so much area that it can stick to. If you cover a piece of paper in glue then pour a bottle of sprinkles on it. Move the paper around all you want but once the glue is all covered the sprinkles...

    Re: Safari

Yeah, it’s not that old. My iMac is from late 2012 and runs like a champ. If we do end up getting another stimulus check I might replace it with a new iMac. Just due to age, not due to issues...

    Re: Safari

Paul, how old is that Mac mini and is it running the latest macOS?

I agree on iOS Safari does have a glitch here and there, mostly to blame on the sites loading but on macOS it is very stable for...

    Re: Safari

I don’t have any issues with it. On my Macs I like Safari better than Chrome. On Windows I prefer Chrome.

    Re: Favorite Glass Coating

I use McKee's 37 and it's fine. Aquapel performed just as well. Neither is super easy to apply but they seem to last a long time, especially if your cleaner has some water repellency as well, it...

Re: Time taken to polish a vehicle

If you don’t do it all the time it’s normal for it to take a while, especially if you have hard paint which Mercedes is known for.

Last time I did my car (exterior only) took me 40 hours spread...
  11. Re: Carpro cquartz application but forgot to add reload

Can you keep the car dry for a week? If so, skip Reload. If it’s going to get wet you can apply it to prevent water spots. It’s fine to apply it the next day.

Re: going to try coating my car

Let's suppose he only wants to add the coating, not caring if there are some marring/swirls underneath. Then I'm thinking Prep-all used by body shops would probably remove the sealant completely and...

Re: Which 15mm polisher to buy?

That original Rupes is going to make you regret the choice. Go for at least the MK II but if you can, the MK III has all the nice improvements that they copied from Griot's.

    Even better deal,...

    Re: Ceramic Coating Product recommendations

Yes, you can, they're called Euro dropper Boston round. I bought one and poured my McKee's glass coating into it. I apply it with a suede towel and block instead of spraying. I'm just not a fan of...
  15. Re: When is it acceptable to use a quick detailer?

That's rinseless wash, it's safer than waterless wash. But waterless wash is safer than quick detailer wiping. If the car was clean and you drove, in dry weather, to the car meet, waterless wash...

    Re: Ceramic Coating Product recommendations

Same here. After having some not so great experience with overspray, I do prefer the normal suede cloth over block application.
  17. Re: Still have some questions on Geyon Product Comparisons

Probably most of it ended up in the towels.
  18. Re: When is it acceptable to use a quick detailer?

2 hours is a lot of driving for just a quick detailer. Do a waterless wash with ONR since you already have that. Just might be different dilution ratio and technique.
  19. Re: trick to apply the conditioner around the sunroof seal

Fairly easy to remove that built-in applicator if you want to dunk the Q-tip in there. Just be careful not to knock the bottle over or you'll waste a lot of the liquid.

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Yeah, 200 miles since that last fuel up. I guess I'll be skipping my next oil change driving so little. With covid making me work from home every day and as a family we're avoiding going out much,...

Re: Would you use these towels again?

I wash in warm water, not the hottest setting. And I dry on low heat. I used to hang them to dry but just takes too much space and time to be completely dry, in the dryer, low heat, less than 1...
  22. Re: trick to apply the conditioner around the sunroof seal

Oh, I guess your glass slides into the roof when you open? Mine makes it a bit easier by going up and sliding over the roof. Still can't get to 100% of the seals but lots of it I can apply Gummi...

Re: Would you use these towels again?

When I used Wolfgang Uber as rinseless, my wash media did get stained. I thought it was permanent. I switched to N-914 and not only did it remove the stains, it never got stained again. I just...
  25. Re: trick to apply the conditioner around the sunroof seal

On my car I do it with multiple different positions of the sunroof, closed, partially open, fully open, but I still do it as a best effort, there are parts in there I simply can't get to unless I...
