    Re: Topper for Liquid Souveran

Rupes 808 appears to be a spray on sealant. There’s no mention of using it as a topper but it won’t hurt. I’m just not sure you’ll get the full benefit (durability, looks) of Souveran or 808 by...

    Re: Black fire paint sealant

Pimpmobile, haven’t seen you post in some time. Last I remember you were doing the PBL Sealant that was getting you through the upstate winters. You looking into Blackfire now?
  4. PBL Coating Detailer vs. PBL SiO2 Detail Spray

Just a quick comparison here. I wanted to compare these two since Iíve wondered the difference for awhile. My X5 has ceramic wax recently applied and had accumulated a bit of dust from a short...

    Re: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax

I’m not so sure Future Armour has SiO2 in it. I believe it is a traditional polymer spray sealant, but I could be proven wrong.

If I’m right it would explain why it does not have as good self...

    Re: McKee's 37 SiO2 Series

This seems like a SiO2 Maintenance Spray / Coating Lite equivalent to the TW offering, or CMX or PA Cosmic (etc) that may be more durable than the previous McKee offering, 10 Minute Paint Sealant.

Re: Meguiars comes into the Ceramic age.

Growing up in Syracuse NY, I recall my older Honda’s getting some rust on the rear wheel wells, which was a Honda problem back then. Cars that were 10+ years old would get some rust on lower panels....

Re: Thinking of getting a black car, that crazy?

I have a straight Brilliant Black and a Black Sapphire Metallic. No regrets. I keep on top of them though but itís worth it.

I also have a silver Acura, but as Leon mentioned, it can be...

    Re: McKee's 37 SiO2 Series

Very nice. Some may mock the amount of SiO2 products at this point (these, TW Hybrid Solutions), but competition is never a bad thing.

Re: Feynlab Pure Wash Safe on Gtechniq?

Truthfully, the Rinseless may also be great at deep cleaning a strong coating. But it definitely beats the snot out of anything lesser than a true coating. While also cleaning very well.
  14. Re: 5 year old bottle of Pinnacle Black label Diamond paint coating - still good?

If it’s still thin liquid that can squirt out the sprayer, I would use it.

Re: Feynlab Pure Wash Safe on Gtechniq?

BEWARE: I haven’t used Pure Wash, but it’s Rinseless bother, Pure Rinseless has been wreaking havoc on people’s LSPs. There’s a thread about it over on Autopia, just search “Feynlab”.

    That’s not...

    Bmw e92 m3

F85 X5 M in Black Sapphire Metallic here. The color is interesting to me with the metallic flake and grey look up close, but from 10 feet away you wouldnít know itís not solid black.

Re: Best SIO2 infused wash soap?

Just throwing it out there because it is a SiO2 infused wash: PA Glasscoat Shampoo. The price is obscene, 16oz costs $70 and 3oz is directed per 5 gallons! But it meets your criteria, albeit...

Re: Best SIO2 infused wash soap?

How much SiO2 infusion do you want? Mckees SiO2 wash is a bargain but only lays down very little SiO2, not enough to be considered protection. Trace amounts.

WG SiO2 Wash is awesome but pricey. ...

Re: How cold can I apply sealant?

^^ Good article from Mike, pointed out by Bob. Those are optimal settings.

Iíve applied PBL sealant in February (probably 30degF in my garage) and got 5-6 months out of it. Iíve also spray waxed...
  22. Re: Removing toppers from ceramic coating with out hurting the coating

The Mckees 1:8 dilution or any other prep spray are likely not strong enough to hurt any SiO2 topping. They are really meant for removing polishing oils or last traces of old wax. It wouldn’t hurt...
  23. Re: Removing toppers from ceramic coating with out hurting the coating

Regarding Mckees Coating Prep, I’ve only used it by hand to clean up window and wheel coatings, prior to adding a new layer of coating. All I can say is that each coating definitely still remained...
  24. Re: Removing toppers from ceramic coating with out hurting the coating

Perhaps strip washes have not been proven to remove all wax/sealants, but they may be good at removing all things from a coating. I believe Reset is essentially a high performance strip wash, with...
  25. Re: Looking for a carwash soap that DOESN'T have wax in it, sell me on YOUR favorite!

RW is for anyone who wants a clean car, anytime/anywhere. It’s best to use if the car is washed frequently, i.e. not caked in mud or grime. If it is, I would just keep your process of pre-rinsing.
