    Re: Foam pad life expectancy

Very early on i stored my foam pads in the garage...in FL! Not good. Some turned to dust from the excessive heat. Now all my pads are kept in the air conditioned space inside.

Any of those machines previously linked above.

Flex ain't leaving this market. They're getting better.

Beautiful work on white paint, Scottie.

What pad did you like with that paint and FCC?
  7. Re: Detailing Classes at Southern Detailing Conference - Lexington, Kentucky

Good luck, Mike and have fun! Wish i could be there.

Dang, that's a lot of stuff for 2 days but looks like you have everything covered. Can't wait to see that old Ford windshield.
  8. Re: How many here are still using the Porter Cable DA?

Also, reading back through this thread i agree with Mike's unused corporate feedback about a market for smaller and more powerful 8mm (or even smaller) throw DA's. I say "unused feedback" because at...
  9. Re: How many here are still using the Porter Cable DA?

Don't mean to cut off jem7sk's answer, bcgreen, but i bought a bunch of LC Thin Pro 5.5" pad's specifically for my PC and they are phenomenal!

Re: Pictures: Traffic Road Film on Glass

I also liked your comment one time about polishing glass just before you retire a pad to the wash bucket. I do this all the time now, not with compounds and cutting pads but certainly with polishes...

    Re: Anyone else coating tires?

I simply machine brush scrub repeatedly with strong APC until it foams white. On some tires that might be anywhere from 4-8 times.

I have had some sidewalls previously dressed (by me) and haven't...
  15. Re: Pad recommendations for light-medium oxidation with GG DA orbital buffer to pair with Marinee 31

I'm still a big fan of "system" designed approaches. I say Griots pads.

If, as you say, it's light oxidation you might be fine. And, if your getting some results with each section pass...do that...

I'm guessing Ryan said"YES" before you finished asking!

    Unbelievable display of professional craftsmanship!!!

Here's everything in 1 thread to test it out on a test panel. Thank you, Mike.

    Anyone else coating tires?

Anyone else coating customer's tires? I've been using OPT Tire Coating on every customer going on about 8 months now. It saves time after the maint wash not having to reapply dressing. Not that it...

Re: Is there a strong soap out there that CLEANS?

Another vote for P21 TAW! I rinse the vehicle off, spray about 1/3 of the car with TAW and then foam wash with Duragloss 902. Rinse and repeat on the remaing sections.

    I do this procedure for...

Re: Removing Glass Hard Water Staining

Every time I work ceriglass its with CarPro glass pads and my rotary. And water spritzes to maintain a slurry.

The abrasion is painfully slow! Unlike a test spot on paint, you don't see it...

Re: What compound do you use on Hard audi paint?

Last Audi I had got Sonax CutMax and LC MF cutting pad. I will add that some areas got a second 7-8 pass hit to get all but the worst RIDS but that Audi paint loved that combo.

    I did a test spot...

I usually do only 1 coat however ALWAYS do GTechniq CSL and EXO which to me is like 2 layers.

    Re: amateur paint correction help

There isn't a speed less than 6 on my PC when correcting. And light machine pressure to maintain spin

The product and the right pad should do the work for you.

Re: What pads for new car detail?

I really like the Lake Country Thin Pro pads on my older PC. They spin better and in turn work the product easier.
