A strong water spot (acid) remover will work.

  8. Re: one-step M105 polish with the new Griots G9. Fusion Sport

Looks very good for a one step. Why didn't you use a tar remover instead of claying for 6 hours?

    Re: Debadging 13yr old suv

Why do you want to de-badge a 13 yr old red/maroon suv? If you must, it will probably leave a shadow. The base coat surrounding the badges are faded and since you can't polish the base (color)...

Re: Did I wet sand through my clear coat?

People think because it's a finishing grit (3000) they can just go at it. With a fair amount of pressure even 3000 can remove a lot of clear quickly.

  12. Re: What am I looking for ? Rotary or orbital or flex?

@Tony, if your concerned with amount of cerium oxide in a product and cost..you can get c/o in a powder form and mix your own surly.
  13. Re: What am I looking for ? Rotary or orbital or flex?

It's the backing plate that is 7". The spindle is 5/8", so a 5" backing plate with a 5/8 female fitting will work.

And yes Car Pro's rayon pads only comes in 3" (odd size) and 51/4" sizes.

Re: Menzerna Heavy Cut Compound 400 Question

Amazing results on that black Porsche. As a matter of fact that's what made me do the Q50 with 400, one step and I'm glad I did.:dblthumb2:
  15. Re: Klasse Kit VS. Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating Elite Kit

    :iagree:CQuartz UK 3.0 is a great choice.

Don't get caught up with the hype on 5year plus coatings. They may indeed last 5 years, but with a black car you can't prevent swirling the paint and the...
  16. Re: What am I looking for ? Rotary or orbital or flex?

1200 rpm should be fast enough. Caution, polishing glass with a rotary can get messy. You need to keep the glass moist with a spray bottle which in turn will create splatter.

    Mike P recommends a...

Re: Ceramic Coated Car and Car Wash

The amount of SI02 in a car wash is so minute it should not alter the hydrophobic action of your coating. Using a wash that contains SI02 over a coated car is a plus in my view.

    On the other...

Get a cheap rotary from HF. You don't need a $300 machine to polish glass that may never have to be polished again.

    Re: Gauge Cluster Plastic Cleaning

Whatever you do, do not wipe the lens with a dry media. Alway's keep your towel damp to prevent scratches. Again, do not dry wipe.
  22. Re: Review: Pinnacle Black Label Ceramic Trim Restorer

Wow, that's a lot of work. I would have used a spray (aerosol) engine detailer and be done with it.

However, it was a nice review.

    Re: Marred Ceramic coating

Essense Plus has no abrasives, so it will not remove your coating. It contains durable resins that might hide some of the marring.

I'm always against claying without polishing afterwards.

    Re: Griot's G9 observation...

Maybe some are jumping the gun by comparing the G9 to to other ROP including the GG6. Most run better with a smaller bp/pads.

Some are saying the 6" set up on the G9 runs smoother and will not...
