Re: Detailing Tips for Honeycomb Grills ?

Some pros spray the coating on and then don’t need to level/wipe off the excess. Wastes more product but sure is easier to apply.

    Re: Fastest working polish?

DAT needs to be worked for a bit to break down the clusters of abrasives. SMAT will be the same if you work it 2 passes or 8 passes.

No, I haven’t tried that yet.
  5. Re: Tint safe glass cleaner.... Suggestions that can be had locally?

    Re: Gyeon quick detailer

The Bald wipe is the best coating leveling towel I have tried. I wish it was cheaper so I could buy a lot of them.

    Re: Gyeon quick detailer

I’ve been using it. It’s fine. I’m not sure it gives me any advantage over Ech2o mix but it’s a fine product. Smells great too.
  8. Re: Need Help Deciding on a Pre-Coating Polish for CQUK

I was in the same boat 3 weeks ago. Used Essence and loved it. So easy to use and wipe off. Let that sit overnight and did a mild Eraser wipedown the next day and coated with UK 3.0 + Gliss v2. ...

    Re: Mercedes Benz C300 Questions

I think the grey pad is way too stiff and hard to use. If orange isn’t enough I would use microfiber instead of foam and then follow up with a finishing polish on a white foam pad.

Re: forgot to wet sand paper, what to do?

Their products often don’t deliver the results one is looking for. Great marketing though.

    Re: Mercedes Benz C300 Questions

Fast correcting cream is great. Should be enough if pared with a proper pad.

Re: forgot to wet sand paper, what to do?

Did you try to remove the sanding marks with a Chemical Guys compound? I bet any of the compounds available on Autogeek would handle that task with no problem.
  13. Re: New car - What to do ahead of cquarts (not prep steps)

It’s up to you of course but do the baggie test and see if it needs claying. If it does then I’d also polish it to remove the marring the clay will probably cause. You don’t want to skip steps...
  14. Re: Mother Natures Car Wash and Ceramic Coatings

I was just noticing my wife's car outside this morning and I finished coating it 17 days ago. For the first 7 days there was no rain, great for curing. Then from that point on we've had a lot of on...

Re: What do I need? So many choice!

And I would get some automotive masking tape and cover the trim. Better doing that than dealing with trim that get stained due to polish/compound. They have a selection of those tape rolls at...

Re: What do I need? So many choice!

Eraser is optional when you use Essence but we all recommend you use it. Don't need to go heavy, just a light application to remove dust and any oils leftover after you leave Essence curing...

    Great looking cars.

Did you find the paint on that Macan on the soft side or hard side?
  19. Re: Updated - Blackfire One Step makes a newb not feel like a newb...amazing product

Glad to hear you got this figured out. Amazing what better products can do right? So many options available now and people have a hard time deciding. Often they opt for one they've heard of...

    Re: No run trim protection?

It’s not cheap but depending on the coating it can be used for other things too. I chose Dlux as that works for trim, wheels, headlights and taillights, etc. so that little $39 bottle (which is...

    Re: No run trim protection?

Good to hear. I can’t make that claim as I didn’t use the product that long ago but on what I used it looks like day 1 and that was last year.

    Re: No run trim protection?

Yes but faded is risky because if you need to restore with something like Solution Finish then you definitely don’t want to coat first. So those require some judgment call but on new trim coating is...

    Re: No run trim protection?

Yeah, if it’s new trim I’d say coat it with Gyeon Trim or Carpro Dlux. Will look great for a long time.

Re: McKeey's Plastic Trim Restorer = WETS?

I use a small foam brush from Harbor Freight. Allow more precision and it’s so cheap I discard after use. I wait a little bit to wipe the excess. Usually do about 1/3 of the trim and come back to...
