    Re: Ordered next car

When you lease the dealer is still making the sale, it's the bank that will own most of the car and take it back when you're done with the lease but the dealer sold the car and got their money for...

Re: Best - softest NON-LINTING MF towel?

My favorite towel for that purpose is Gyeon Bald Wipe. Not cheap but it's a really good performer.

Any polish with a polishing pad should take care of removing the coating and fixing the marring...

    Re: Dent repair?

Definitely let a pro do it. It's an art to know how much to move and stretch the metal to not make it worse. When they are done you can't even tell where it was unless there was a scratch or paint...

    Re: Happy Birthday Mike Phillips!!

    Happy birthday, Mike!
  6. Re: Bought a Griot’s G9, a couple simple questions.

Get the 5” backing plate and keep using your pads.
  7. Re: Car Pro Dlux - still ok to use with this date on it

Dlux is always tacky, even when fresh :)
  8. Re: Car Pro Dlux - still ok to use with this date on it

If it’s liquid and not hazy I’d give it a shot.
  9. Re: Blast from the past! - New Car Touchless Acrylic Clearcoat Sealant

How much SiO2 in the formula? Or was it Graphene?

Re: What do you keep in your car?

A small bottle of quick detailer and a towel. I think jumper cables with the spare tire as well. Nothing else. I hate any and every sound or rattle in a car so I keep as few items as possible...
  11. Re: How do you clean/dress tires in the winter? No hose.

I use whatever is left from my N-914 bucket. Dress as usual after drying with air (Metro Sidekick)

Re: A good 100' water hose

For garden hose I like my Craftsman all rubber hose. Mine is 50ft and really heavy. I’d not consider a 100ft version due to weight. I think OG sells a nice Goodyear all rubber too and I’d think...

Re: Anyone use CarPro Dlux on headlights

I have. No issues, applied it to everything that is plastic. It’s a little grabby to level but not bad at all.

Re: Car Pro Extreme Gloss Enhancer

I think they put a shelf life of one year on this due to the SiO2 in the product. I have a bottle of the Essence+ and that one has gotten pretty hard in the bottle, like it cured somehow. I barely...

Re: Car Pro Extreme Gloss Enhancer

The instructions for Essence seem very complicated. Using it like a normal polish works just fine. It’s super easy to wipe off and was a pleasure to work with.

    Re: B-Pillar Scratches : Why

Fixing will be easy but you can only do that so many times. I'd recommending fixing it one last time and putting PPF on it. It's not hard to do it yourself on a B pillar.
  18. Re: Coated under 15 minutes using PBL Surface Coating

Paul, how old is your bottle of Surface Coating? The reason I ask is because McKee's coating felt like that and it had extremely short shelf life. I don't have experience with the PBL coating but...

    Re: New long throw upgrades????

Maybe their pile of BOSS polishers is much bigger and they want to shrink that a bit before announcing new ones.

Re: How to avoid germs - Gas Station

I use an app so the only thing I touch is the nozzle, nothing else on the pump. But I do get a bit disgusted touching that.

    Re: New long throw upgrades????

I think they just said "Stay tuned, more new products are coming soon" but no details and no affirmation the BOSS line was getting replaced or revamped.

    Re: Good'ol Dealership and detailing

    Re: New long throw upgrades????

Of course updates are coming seeing how they cut the price of the existing machines. But Griot's won't say when and what the upgrades consists of or no one will buy the remaining units of the old...
  24. Re: Rupes LHR15 Mark2 & Ibrid Nano - Issues Concerns and Observations

Interesting how this article goes against what Mike and I said above. Although it’s coming from a very respected detailer, I’ve personally seen how a pad does not work well and also gets damaged...
  25. Re: Rupes LHR15 Mark2 & Ibrid Nano - Issues Concerns and Observations

I agree with Mike, don’t use wet pads. Using the washer while detailing is not good.
You might be struggling a bit with technique on a long throw machine, especially a MK II which is said to stall...
