  1. Re: Must Have Microfiber! At least my opinion :)

Perhaps you used the wrong side of the towel for the wax removal step ? These towels are dual-sided, one side is for removing the wax, the other side is for buffing.

A very cool car with some nice touches like the 2-piece windhshield, spinner hubcaps, and that grill(e) !

  3. Re: Looking for a carwash soap that DOESN'T have wax in it, sell me on YOUR favorite!

You could get a 3 gallon (or so) pump-up sprayer and fill it with water to take with you to the coin-op. Then use the sprayer to keep the truck wet during the intervals when you aren't feeding coins.
  4. Re: What the heck did the dealer spray on my car

They make razor blade holders for use with ceramic stove tops - they hold the blade at the correct (slight) angle so as to prevent damaging/scratching the surface. Try one of these on your windows,...

    Re: Best $10 Tire Dressing

Another DG253 fan here, and I also use the Eldo2K-approved application method, ie. with a flagged tip brush.

DG253 claims to have an additive called Rain Repel to help with water resistance.

Yes, you can apply BF One Step by hand, however machine application will work best for more difficult imperfections. That said, as the surfaces of these plastic items are more delicate, you may be...

Re: Can I restore this at home?

And if you leave the windows down, they'll do the interior for free !

Actually I think it was Earl Scheib that the Boss (Springsteen) was talking about ...
  11. Re: OK to Use Blackfire One Step on Chromed Plastic Trim ?

Thanks for the replies everybody. After reading your suggestions I did a test spot earlier today and it worked out well. Taking a lunch break right now and then it's back to work. :buffing:
  12. OK to Use Blackfire One Step on Chromed Plastic Trim ?

So, I am behind on my winter prep thanks to a nasty bout with shingles. :(

Today when I washed the CR-V to prep for sealing it, I noticed lots of oxidation (or staining or ... ?) on a good deal...
  13. Re: Pictures: Roadshow Class with Detail Pro Shop in Powell, Ohio

Nope. L-88's did not have a radio antenna. IIRC, that is one of the only discerning visible (exterior) features. I don't think L-88's could have the optional J02 wheel covers like this car either....
  14. Re: Pictures: Roadshow Class with Detail Pro Shop in Powell, Ohio

I wish I had a scanner. I have hundreds of photos from McDorman's Concours shows over the years. Corvettes for as far as the eye could see, predominantly 53-70's. McDorman would park his whole...

Pretty sure I know that 1969 Corvette. If it's the car I'm thinking of, it was once part of the Bob McDorman collection. McDorman was a legendary Corvette dealer and collector here in central Ohio....

These things are disgusting. Never smash one or it will release its "stink". Ranks right up there with skunk.
  18. Re: Is this calcium buildup? If so, how do I remove it?

If that roof rack rail is anodized aluminum, this kinda looks like corrosion of some sort ... could be induced by a strong chemical (acid or base) or even just corrosion from salt. Anodized aluminum...

It's a bad time right now for bugs everywhere. Yesterday, here in Ohio, we had massive swarms of big dragonflies that are migrating. The swarms were so big that the NWS radar was picking them up as...
