  1. Re: Review: Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish - Exhaust Tip Polishing - RUPES Nano

That was good advice. Any polish is going to be at least somewhat abrasive and you don't want to be polishing chrome plating too aggressively.
  2. Re: Can I use Collinite 845 after I coated rims with Carpro DLux Quartz?

    :iagree:

    845 contains naptha.

Re: Should I clay before winter or after?

Well then, since you're doing a sealant and not a coating, I think I would skip the clay for now and do it in the spring. After winter you may have some (additional) correcting in the spring, so I...

    He's looking good.

Great shine to his coat, what kind of LSP are you using on him ... wax, sealant, coating ?

  6. Re: Restore non-glass windows in 1979 MG MGB convertible hood (top)

That's a tough one to tackle.

First step is to deep clean. Something like :

Nextzett Plastic Vinyl Deep Cleaner Plastik Reiniger

    or

Griot's Garage Plastic Cleaner, auto plastic cleaner,...
  7. Re: The FLEX BEASTS Video with Yancy and Mike

    Mike,

There are two main reasons why we engineers say gear drives are "positively driven" :

    1. There is no slip between gears in the transmission of power. Whereas belt drives, for example,...

    Re: Best wash mitt

Similar to the Gyeon Smoothie, P&S Twister, and XtraFluff mitts.

  10. Re: Recommend me some tire cleaners that won't brown my tires please!

Well, that's surprising. Maybe the Mothers is formulated around the makeup of modern tires which are a blend of both natural and synthetic rubbers ?

Scuff marks on mats are problematic when it...

Re: Video that a co-worker made for me...

    Worked OK for me.

Only critique I would make is should have shown both the before/after for the area you polished. Only got the "before" with what looked liked water spotting. :dunno:
  13. Re: Recommend me some tire cleaners that won't brown my tires please!

I've used Tuf Shine and Pinnacle tire cleaners and both are excellent.

But my favorite is Mothers Back-to-Black Tire Cleaner (aka Tire Renew). Super cleaning power and as a bonus, it's waterless....

  15. Re: How is everyone staying sane during well... 2020 ?

2020 has actually been busy, work-wise. I don't do the manufacturing gig anymore, I lead problem-solving activities and teach Six Sigma, Shainin Red X, and PFMEA classes/seminars. And the assembly...

  21. Re: 2 ways to cover the fresh air grill on a classic muscle car

I dunno, I've had both coupes and roadsters, each has their +/-'s. A roadster with a hardtop ain't too shabby !
  22. Re: What should I use to protect Polished Aluminum Rims?

There is a product made specifically for this application but unfortunately AG doesn't sell it so ...

That said, a coating such as PBL Diamond Wheel Coating should work nicely.
  23. Re: 2 ways to cover the fresh air grill on a classic muscle car

I kinda cheated ... I knew it from prior posts (and pics) Mike has made about this car.

Plus, I have previously owned several "Mid-year" Corvettes.
  24. Re: 2 ways to cover the fresh air grill on a classic muscle car

1965. The two years look very similar but one distinguishing feature was the '66 has a Corvette Sting Ray emblem on the lower portion of the hood (on driver's side). It's the same emblem as on the...
  25. Re: Can one ceramic coat single stage paint??

I doubt it is urethane unless it was painted in the late 80's.

My guess would be acrylic enamel.
