  2. Re: Weird staining and streaks when paint correcting

Sounds like oxidation. Do a test spot, but do more passes and be sure to work clean.

If you don't have a paint gauge..I would get a release of liability from the owner. Car has 80k and not...

    Re: Wolfgang Spray Coating

Not a fan on spraying any product directly on the surface. Maybe with a glass cleaner or a tire dressing (which I don't use), but for those who do use it.

I would go with what the manufacture...

Don't you have a door? Or hang a tarp to block the sun. We without garages should be envious of you.

    Re: Foam pad life expectancy

7 years is a lot to ask out of a pad. If it were me, before you start your next detail order some new pads in the color you are planning to use.

Check to see if the velcro is firmly attached to...

    Re: Tiny rust spots

Clay might remove some, but not all iron in the clear coat. At best, clay will just shear off the tops. You need a chemical dissolver.
  14. Re: How to remove swirl marks from headlight lens - newbie here

If you have a 4" backing plate and pad, use it. Just a little big for a headlight.

    Re: Tiny rust spots

Yup, problem solved. Iron X will remove your wax, so be sure to re-wax.

Oh, and be sure to be up-wind as it smells terrible (rotten eggs).

4" is an odd size, but better than 5.5" for head light polishing.
  18. Re: First impressions of coating (CQuartz light)

    .

Unless you have acid rain or park under a sprinkler, you should be fine.
  19. Re: How to remove swirl marks from headlight lens - newbie here

You need a lower grit sandpaper (800-1000) then move up. Are you using a 3" pad?
