Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Thanks, and yes! I first noticed I wasn’t happy with these panels on an overcast day. Lightly polished them, recoated and did the best I could to ensure smooth application with shade on a sunny day....

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I did some rework on a partially sloppy coating attempt. 3 panels including the hood recoated with CQ UK due to smeary-looking finish (high spots) on black paint.

    What a difference proper...
  3. Re: Review: Pinnacle Black Label Compound, Polish and Diamond Surface Prep Spray

I believe you can use the PBL polish as an equivalent alternative to Pinnacle Finishing Polish. It is PBL’s ‘finishing polish’, but probably has a bit more cut for when it’s needed. I have no doubt...
  4. Re: Review: Pinnacle Black Label Compound, Polish and Diamond Surface Prep Spray

The Surface Cleansing Polish has no abrasives, so don’t expect even light scratches to be impacted or jeweling with a finishing pad (assuming I’m thinking correctly that jeweling would remove some...

    Re: Expiration date?

Yeah, in line with PaulMys, those sound like they’re fine if they don’t smell funky or look separated.

Re: Coating Flash Times —- Confused

I just checked my newly coated black Q5 in the sun and there are a few areas that appear lightly streaked. Most likely high spots that won’t come out. I regret thinking I could do this in my garage...

Re: Coating Flash Times —- Confused

I have a bad feeling I left too much “oily” coating residue during wipe off due to trying before the flash was fully dry. I was hoping the residue would self level but I can still see it with swirl...

Re: Review: Wolfgang PROFI Ceramic Coating

I think the bottles are metal but could be wrong. I definitely think the crappy plastic bottles impacted Mckees V2 shelf life.

Re: Coating Flash Times —- Confused

If this is the case and I don’t have to worry about the coating bonding and only concerned with ease of wipe off, them I’m a happy man.

Re: Coating Flash Times —- Confused

I worked up to 1.5 full panels ahead to let the stuff sit long enough. Knowing by that time that it wouldn’t be a problem to wipe off after 5-10 minutes.

Re: Coating Flash Times —- Confused

I now fear that certain sections/panels of mine were wiped off too soon (UK 2.0) because there was some oily residue after which did not easily go away after 1 or 2 wipes. Being my first coating I...

    Re: P21s/Maguiar’s Ultimate Wax

P21s has a shiny, bright finish from what I remember (for a wax). But probably deeper, warmer still than Megs ULW I would think (full disclosure I haven’t used ULW much but have used M21 a lot and I...

Re: New Wolfgang Ceramics vs DPGS hood test!

You’re welcome. I’m glad if it helped.

I personally liked the WG SiO2 look, it caught my eye as being darker and richer. Both darken the paint as SiO2 products generally do, it was easy to see...

Re: Wow did we forget 9/11

Thanks for mentioning the feeling, it just hit me. I can agree with the sad feeling in the area, unsure if it’s just me or if it’s local NYers too. The times I’ve visited that vicinity everything...

The only benefit I give to spray and rinse vs spray drying aid is that for folks who are less mobile, bad back or whatever else; the spray and rinse allows protection to get in all the nooks and...

Re: New Wolfgang Ceramics vs DPGS hood test!

    1) I do think WG CSC could have been impacted by PBL Surface Coating underneath, but even more so, I believe temperature during application and curing period impacted WG CSC and PBL. The products...

I don’t think so, just get them into some wash solution right after and then rinse and wring them out if you want to be safe.
