    Re: high end detailing lineup.

How and why did you use M105/205? Do you machine to cut and polish?

Once you nail down proper wash and decon (i.e. wash, iron decon, clay) are you machine buffing paint?

    We can talk you...

    Re: Guidence on windshield pitting...

I have said it before and will reiterate now...glass polishing is a long process. It is NOT like a test spot for paint correction.

In the latter you see the effectiveness of pad, product, machine...

Sticky: Re: Video: How to clean your pad on the fly

Nothing beats grabbing a clean, dry pad but Mikes method is unbeatable. I do it after EVERY section. It's quick and extends the effectiveness of your pads.

    Re: I hate black

As previously mentioned, coatings have certainly upped the game for blacks too.
  6. Re: If you could start all over, what would your occupation be?

    Formula 1 driver.

I spent over 30 years as an airport ops mgr/director at 3 different airports and have no regrets but would be driving and detailing better vehicles as a retired F1 driver.

    Or...

    Re: I hate black

I hear you, soob. Black is difficult for us but some years ago I took a different perspective on it.

I considered it my doctorate thesis on detailing and took a lot of time perfecting it and...

    Re: Foam pad life expectancy

Very early on i stored my foam pads in the garage...in FL! Not good. Some turned to dust from the excessive heat. Now all my pads are kept in the air conditioned space inside.

Beautiful work on white paint, Scottie.

What pad did you like with that paint and FCC?
  14. Re: Detailing Classes at Southern Detailing Conference - Lexington, Kentucky

Good luck, Mike and have fun! Wish i could be there.

Dang, that's a lot of stuff for 2 days but looks like you have everything covered. Can't wait to see that old Ford windshield.
  15. Re: How many here are still using the Porter Cable DA?

Also, reading back through this thread i agree with Mike's unused corporate feedback about a market for smaller and more powerful 8mm (or even smaller) throw DA's. I say "unused feedback" because at...
  16. Re: How many here are still using the Porter Cable DA?

Don't mean to cut off jem7sk's answer, bcgreen, but i bought a bunch of LC Thin Pro 5.5" pad's specifically for my PC and they are phenomenal!

Re: Pictures: Traffic Road Film on Glass

I also liked your comment one time about polishing glass just before you retire a pad to the wash bucket. I do this all the time now, not with compounds and cutting pads but certainly with polishes...

    Re: Anyone else coating tires?

I simply machine brush scrub repeatedly with strong APC until it foams white. On some tires that might be anywhere from 4-8 times.

I have had some sidewalls previously dressed (by me) and haven't...
  22. Re: Pad recommendations for light-medium oxidation with GG DA orbital buffer to pair with Marinee 31

I'm still a big fan of "system" designed approaches. I say Griots pads.

If, as you say, it's light oxidation you might be fine. And, if your getting some results with each section pass...do that...

Re: Is there a strong soap out there that CLEANS?

Another vote for P21 TAW! I rinse the vehicle off, spray about 1/3 of the car with TAW and then foam wash with Duragloss 902. Rinse and repeat on the remaing sections.

    I do this procedure for...
