    Re: CarPro Eraser Residue!?

At this point I agree you might as well proceed straight to the coating after Essence and without using Eraser. Let’s hope the towel you use to level the coating doesn’t do the same. That would...
  2. Re: Any recommendations on a cordless blow dryer?

It’s not cordless. It’s called Turbo Car Dryer. It works but it’s awkward to use. Mine sits on the shelf most of the time and the sidekick (also not cordless) is what I use the most.

    Re: Window cleaning trick

If I could spend the rest of my life without cleaning another window it would be great. I hate doing that because it’s so easy to spot any imperfections. Definitely the part I hate the most. ...

When I saw the first picture I thought this was a post to complain something had leaked in a box

Re: Can you use PERL with Opti seal

Might be different for another car. I applied it to my wife’s previous car, a Honda Fit, and it came out too shiny for my liking. Thankfully I didn’t try it first on my GTI.

Re: HELP ME MAKE UP MY MIND

I chose the G15. Not just because it’s cheaper but for the lifetime warranty. If a product is good the manufacturer should stand behind it. One year warranty is not good enough for me so my...

Re: Griots Polsher G8 vs GR3 for Novice

If you can afford the Flex it’s definitely going to be more versatile. But for the hobbyist caring for a car or two, it’s just too expensive.

Re: Can you use PERL with Opti seal

I’ve used PERL on the inside. Once. Never again. It’s too shiny for my liking (I diluted it 1:5) and it’s also a product that doesn’t smell great. I love PERL on the tires but that’s the only...

Re: Griots Polsher G8 vs GR3 for Novice

G8 for sure. The GR3 is a rotary and sure works for tight spaces but it’s not the tool I’d use for a large part of the car due to holograms. You’d need a DA to correct the holograms left behind by...

Re: Karcher 1700 versus Kranzle K1122TST

Keep in mind every Black Friday / Cyber Monday Matt runs a 10% off + free shipping on Obsessed Garage so that could save you a decent amount on an expensive PW like the Kranzle or the AR Blue. Only...

    Re: CarPro Eraser Residue!?

Yes, minor dust. That’s why I do a light wipe with Eraser. I use a towel from AG that is meant for waterless washes, no issues with marring.

Re: Karcher 1700 versus Kranzle K1122TST

The part of the OG setup I use the least and wouldn’t mind if I hadn’t purchased is the wand and the foam cannon. Just rarely use them. The wand I only use when washing the deck. The foam cannon...
  17. Re: Make Up Pads for applying Coatings to Wheels?

Wrap the cloth around your fingers and in order to avoid getting the hand tired from holding it like that, put a rubber band at the bottom of the fingers so the towel stays put. Easier than dealing...
  18. Re: What is your general rule for when you polish (not compound) your car?~~~

Polish when needed. Usually around 18 month mark or so. That's about how long the coatings survive with great performance anyways. Then polish and coat again.

I've never had to compound the...

    Re: CarPro Eraser Residue!?

Right, a few hours is good enough but I usually finish Essence at the end of the day and let it sit overnight, then in the morning do a light wipe with Eraser and proceed with coating.

Re: Karcher 1700 versus Kranzle K1122TST

Hard to compare because the cost is so far apart. Karcher seems to have issues but apparently you call them and they replace the unit, 3 year warranty if I’m not mistaken.

    Kranzle is a solid...

    Re: CarPro Eraser Residue!?

I’m not a fan of those cobra yellow towels. I use them for interior only.

Once I started using Essence as a finishing polish this prep wipe became much less important and I do it lightly mostly...

    Re: Removing CSL/Exo

A fine polish with a polishing pad will take care of it. Coatings are much easier to remove than their marketing makes you believe.
  23. Re: Do you coat (or dress) both sides of your tires?

Did anyone say hell no yet? Because I say hell no. I don’t see it so it can be brown if it wants to.

    Re: Gyeon Syncro

I think any of the Gyeon or CarPro coatings will easily last over a year if that's your goal. Maybe even just CanCoat Pro that he offered will get you there and that's easier to install than Syncro...

    Re: Gyeon Syncro

Being on the shore, with lots of rain and sun to bake water on your car, and no garage, a ceramic coating might not be the best way to go if you want to avoid water spots.

    Syncro was great when I...
