All looks great.... that black tho....

Re: Compound selection after 2000 grit

Good deal! Ya that 3D ACA 500 is nothing short of amazing and finishes down insanely nice, all things considered.

You really wouldn't think a product would have any business being able to cut...
  4. Re: T&C (also known as terms and conditions)

Same here, microns is imo a much better measurement for paint thickness.

TrustJesus, here is a example of a paint gauge telling me a lot about this rear quarter on a G body.

  5. Re: What are those speckles/pinholes on my paint surface

Possibly slight contamination when the vehicle was cleared.

Example: Say you were to take and lightly mist of detail spray on your base coat before you cleared it, then you cleared it, ...

Re: Pigtails - Need help figuring out cause?

This is a big cause, jammed up paper and not working clean enough.

Another thing is, unlike da polishing during a paint correction with compounds and polishes... try to keep the pad rotation...

Re: When Mike said PNS darkens paint...

Just giving a example of this....

Example below is "gray" black, hazy & damaged.

After is 100% bare with no wax, sealant, coating.

95% of the look you get is done prior to protection.

Re: How would you polish this trailer?

I did this plane a few years ago and won't be doing another one lol. That was my first and last !

Single stg. polish with CarPro Essence then coated with Cquart U.k 3.0.
    (Bottom of plane also) ...

  13. Re: Does detailing suffer from the public underestimating how much work goes into it?

I don't think some get the work that is involved depending on how in depth of a correction they are looking for.

Myself, I bill out at $80/hr. but usually give a slight break the bigger the job....

That's a good thing about living in the North, sometimes it's really nice to not have to worry about packing a cooler

  16. Re: Scholl Concepts S30 leaving micro marring/ DA Haze

Don't suppose you have any Buff & Shine Euro Tech white pads do ya?

Re: Compound selection after 2000 grit

Rotary with 3D ACA 500 paired with a Hex Logic Orange foam pad will knock 2000 grit out pretty quick.
I run it around 1100-1200 rpms

Re: ceramic on glass and chrome

They are just high spots from the coating. Nothing seriously messed up at all..... it happens.

Either take it back to him and have him remove the spots or get a mild polish and microfiber rag...
