Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Banged out a rinseless wash with Pinnacle Rinseless w/carnauba. Pre-soaked with the same at QD strength.

I haven’t used it in a few years and I forgot how nice it was to use. Clean well and is...

I used it before I settled on FK1000p. UPGP is good stuff.

Re: New Car First Wash Critique my plan

If you can, try to get the ValuGard ABC to decontaminate. It was back ordered when I needed it a few months ago, so I did it the hard way.

Mike, that was kind of you. You must’ve stayed up all night baking those.

    Happy birthday to all mentioned.

  9. Re: How to ceramic coat Matte Flat Graphics with PBL Ceramic Matte Coating

    opie,

From what I’ve seen first hand, the matte - finish hoods on Mopars are easily damaged with conventional waxes. Once you get a shine on them, there’s no going back to matte. I’ve seen more...
  10. Re: How to ceramic coat Matte Flat Graphics with PBL Ceramic Matte Coating

    Thanks, Mike. Outstanding review,(as always).

I’ll probably get some for my matte wheels.

The Mopar guys with the black hoods and roofs, will be VERY happy.

The Detailer's Hippocratic Oath: "First do no harm".

    I'd leave that one alone.

Re: Your favorite Car Wash Soap

I’ve been using Griots Surface Wash in my cannon. It’s very forgiving to drying, even in the sun.

Re: How-to use PBL Tire Clear Coat

Mike, given the amount of work involved, $200.00 is a deal.

    Great job.

With a daily driver that's outside 24/7, I've resigned myself to accept it as a 5-footer, ( a car that looks great from 5 feet away).

Re: I messed up. Touch up paint tips needed!

I would touch it up as best as I could, let it cure, then coat over it. I would then have a beer and consider it finished. I would leave the wet sanding and compounding to an expert.

    My 2 cents.

Re: Windshield coating - skipping wipers (new car)

If I remember, I'll give the wiper blades a quick alcohol wipe when I wash the car. It removes the grime and oxidized junk from the blades. No streaks and they last longer.

Poll: Re: wash and seal/coat soap for foam cannon

I've been using Griot's Surface Wash and PolyGloss in my foamer for awhile now. Very pleased with both.
