  1. Re: Review: 3D Ceramic Coating on a Marine Gelcoat Boat

DANG. Great stuff. Lots of info there!

I am pretty sure, after this thread, I WON'T be detailing boats anytime soon! No thank you.

The EZ-Switch system looks awesome. It's like a combination...

    Re: 3401/pad?/compound?

I've used MF, wool, and the LC Orange pads (among others).

All work well. For the more serious defects, I do reach for wool. Usually, the Orange Hybrids work well enough for most jobs

    Re: Clay / polish question

    Indeed.

Wax can also make it slick.

    Re: Clay / polish question

Test spot, as with most things detailing. That's ultimately how one can decide which steps to take.

What makes you happy? Or the owner, if they're paying you.

The owner of this was VERY happy....

    Re: Clay / polish question

I think most lean on the side of, "I never clay unless I polish afterward."

One guy I know feels the old Sonus clay was fine enough, if done right, to not need polishing after.

    I've done "clay"...

    Re: Thank You SONAX

I gave my wife a bottle for the house, since it was the closest one I had at the time.

She recently told me she REALLY likes it. oops. My loss (for the cars)

Re: Does AG have 30% off?

Sometimes you can get more if you're lucky.....and constantly checking.

I've had some ridiculous savings a few times. You just got to be on it!
  11. Re: LC Power Tools UDOS 5 in 1 Polisher - What's in the Box?

Same. I like the ingenuity, innovation, and bringing it to life. R-E-S-P-E-C-T

You know what else I like? NUMBER 5 ! I'm partial to that number. Congrats on getting you some tools, and the #5.

    Re: SAMPLES (original post updated)

PNS comes in an aerosol can. Not sure it would work the same if sprayed into an empty container or something.

You can get the smaller size.... Sonax Polymer Net Shield 75 ml.

    It really is!

Funny thing is, I didn't intend on keeping it. I had bought a kit, as part of a sale, plus free gift, plus who-knows-what-else. I figured I'd get the kit, keep the polish and...

    Re: The Beast Arrived!!!

haha. Thanks. I had started it, but forum member Angus did a much better job with it for me!

Hard to tell, but it says, "SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FLEX" - hehe.
  16. Re: BUFFERS: If I had to do it all over again......

Pretty much agree. I don't use a 15mm all that often, but doing so more these days since I got a cordless version of one.

I WAS going to sell off my GG6, and have sold off my PC, but decided to...

    Re: Polisher naming

UDOS kind of works for me, as far as saying that, rather than something like "ABCD- 12 niner 42"

    I did say "kind of"

Though, I like where you're going with the birds theme.

    Re: The Beast Arrived!!!

This news makes me sad. Though, admittedly, I knew it was a matter of time. Talk about a long run. One of mine is from 2010, and has a below 1,000 serial number.

I like how you think!! I have...

    Re: The Beast Arrived!!!

Tom, congrats on THE BEAST. I have two of them, and love them both.

Curious though, is there a reason you went with the BEAST and not the newer Supa BEAST? (is that what Mike calls it?)
  21. Re: Applying AIO by hand or with Megs DA Power System

In YouTube, look for DA Power System on Scratched Up 4Runner. (Disclaimer: I posted that video)

You definitely want to break down the job in sections as it will take a long time with small pads....

    Re: DeWalt cordless DA polisher

I picked one up almost 2 months ago because I had batteries already. As much as I want a Flex, I had to get in on the cordless option sooner rather than later.

No regrets. I'm liking the DeWalt...

Re: Blackfire questions for new truck

Are you planning on wax before or after the rust-proofing? I'd check with the guys doing the work to see what they say. The rust-proofing material may not bond well if the vehicle is waxed.
