Least aggressive is the best approach, 400Grit is way too aggresive!!! I recently restored a headlight on a 07 Honda Civic ( head light was completely oxidized)
Damp sanded with 1500G, than 3000G...
Thanks Joe but now I'm a little nervous over this GTR. After a little searching, The GTR's have sensitive clear coat and of coarse this 1 has to be black as well (breath on it and the paint will...
Well it went better than I thought with the client after I explained it is clear coat failure and not my polishing. I also called in favor with a good friend that owns a body shop to respray the tub....
Okay I really wish I took before pictures so everyone could see what this truck looked like and why I took the job in the first place (this was no work truck).
Well after tons of searching, it seems the wheel tub has clear coat failure not oxidation. It had the chalky look before I polished it and it just returned and still looks 100 times better than it...
I wish it was single stage paint, the tub is base/clear ( no visible paint to the pad). After I damp sanded, the tub was first compounded with 105 and wool pad on a rotary. Than refined with 105 on...
Well looking for some advice since I never used paint coatings before. I have my 1980 Camaro Z28 with original Bronze metallic single stage paint but after years of polishing I know the paint is...
Since I got my rupes 21, my rotary has been collecting dust.lol
Love the finishing capabilities of the Rupes 21. Thinking about picking up the Flex 3401 because of the forced rotation for these...
Well I just called the customer and he wouldn't give me access to the car after i explained I couldn't get the car finished with time constraints he put on me. So he canceled on me. THANK GOD
Now...
Well been thinking about all it night at work. If he doesn't give me access to work on the car I think I'm going to have to pass. I guess the customer thinks it's just like a production detail even...
I was contacted to do a full paint correction on a 69 Chevelle that was restored approximately 10 years ago. The Chevelle has typical swirl marks and some scratches which is a shame because whoever...
Well I've been a Part Time detailer for many years with my focus on paint correction but thinking it's time to try detailing full time. I know I'll have to change my mind set a little and do more...
Well the painted portion of the car looks great but the lower section looks so so. Is there anything that can be done about the matt body panels without redyeing them?
Honestly it wasn't that bad. I primed the pad, cleaned it after every other section pass and didn't go crazy adding too much M105.
If you want to see dust, try Farecla G3 with a Rotary buffer...lol
Thanks for all your help. Had no issues with Meguiars microfiber pads. The Benz looks great and another happy customer, now hopefully he won't clean his car with shop towels again and all I can say...
Thanks. The bp is new, I switched from the 6" to 5" bp when I first got my Rupes 21 but none of my suppliers had 5" microfiber cutting pads in stock so bought the 6" instead.
Well guys looking for a little help.
I have a full paint correction booked on a Mercedes 500SL. I'm planning on using M105 and M205 with my Rupes 21 and Meguiars Microfiber pads. The question I have...
Well I was just trying to help a fellow Canadian and BTW I found Olde Town Auto Spa though Autogeek's international distributor section so I didn't mean to offend.
