  1. Re: Best products for new cars that go through automatic car washes frequently?

I used Nu Finish (GASP!) on a 2014 silver Kia Forte I bought new as a daily. I went through a local, new tunnel wash at least 3 times a week for 4 years (touch style, cloth strips) and that car...

Re: Did I get a deal?

No. I posted my thoughts on the comparison of the G15 and LHR15 MKII on this forum elsewhere. The Griot's seemed to have a bit more power, but was much less refined in use. If I never used the...

Re: Did I get a deal?

I've done 2 cars with the Rupes now and I'm pleased with it. It is very smooth (smoother than the G15 by far) and other than being easily stalled it seems like a good tool. I'll probably add a...

Do not like the red and yellow. Looks like ketchup and mustard.

The spray bottle looks like a person sort of bent over trying to pick something up. I'd lose the bottle.

    Re: non-professional comparison Rupes V Griot's G15

That could be as simple as changing the clearance of the backing plate to the shroud. The folks that disassembled them didn't mention any differences. Either way...not a big deal.

    Re: non-professional comparison Rupes V Griot's G15

Well...they are being marketed as such. My investigations led me to 3-4 machines as there isn't a lot of competition in this market. They're built to look like each other and priced closely enough...

    Re: non-professional comparison Rupes V Griot's G15

    Thanks, Tony.

When I brought the Rupes home, I disassembled the backing plate and cleaned and re-lubed the shroud and the backing plate. They come from Rupes with silicone grease so I moved some...

No idea who you're replying to (no quoted text), but my comparison was with 2 - 15mm throw machines.

Pics of the backing plate removed, etc. There is silicone grease here. I moved some of it to the rubber shroud that touches the backing plate.

Re: Did I get a deal?

I posted a couple pics. 3-4 of the pads were dirty, but 10 minutes in the sink and they're all like new now. They show no wear. The seller said he'd only used it a couple times and I believe him. ...

Thanks. I found one right at Griots at a big discount with everything they sell in the BOSS system so I grabbed it. I love my 10+ yr old Griots 6" DA so this should be a huge step up for me.
