  1. Re: School me on using a windshield treatment like aquapel, and longevity of wiper blades

Varies a lot if your car sits outside or in a garage. Mine is garaged and I avoid days of bad weather if I can. My glass is also coated. I rarely use the wipers, only if it's such a fine mist it...

    Re: 3” polisher purchase

But if the G8 by itself is $129.99 and the kit is $179 sounds like it's too much for some product and pad. Basically he'd give them the GG3 and still have to pay $114 which is almost the cost of the...

    Re: 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo

When it comes in for correction please convince the owner to let you remove that Porsche crest from the back. It just doesn’t belong there.

He said Essence+ so it's not the abrasive one.
  5. Re: Finally going to start doing/using RW and WW's... Here are my options

Then you’ll be happy with Uber. I think McKee’s cleans better but Uber left a nice gloss and smelled nicer. I was happy with it but have switched to N-914 as the cars are coated and I didn’t want...
  6. Re: Finally going to start doing/using RW and WW's... Here are my options

What LSP do you have on the truck? Because depending on what it is and if you want something that leaves nothing behind then N-914 is the way to go. If you have a regular wax or sealant then Uber...
  7. Re: Is Anyone Else Tired of All the Ceramic Pile-Ons?

I think there's definitely too many products and it makes picking one hard. But I'm all about the ceramic stuff because they make caring for cars much easier. I love a clean car. I hate cleaning...

    Re: 3” polisher purchase

If i were to spend more than the G8 price then I’d get the Flex “pixie”. That seems to offer more than Rupes with up to 3” pad. And it’s considerably cheaper.

    Re: 3” polisher purchase

I'm counting on the G8 being a success. I preordered one. I'd rather give my money to Griot's than Rupes because of warranty.

I read that twice looking for a color. Couldn’t see it. Now I went back and immediately saw the color. lol

Re: My white pad turned black!

What color is the car? There’s also a chance that if it’s a black car and has been repainted with single stage then you’re seeing that.
But road film or picking up dirt from trim/seal is more...

    Re: Black friday sales!!!!

Sometimes they have 15% off tools (excluding Rupes). First time I ever saw a discount on Rupes was last Friday.
25% off tools (or a Flex in particular) I have never seen.

    Re: Microsoft Edge - DOA

It might be the same source but Microsoft manages to make it a piece of crap when adding their touch.

    Re: Microsoft Edge - DOA

The only thing Internet Explorer and/or Edge are good for is to download Chrome. Then you instal that and never use the Microsoft browsers again.

    Re: Black friday sales!!!!

Many states now require all sellers to charge sales tax for orders shipping to that state. I’m in PA and that’s one of them. We used to not be taxed on most online stores. Now we are taxed in...
  17. Re: Reset on non-coating SiO2 stand-alone or toppers?

If I remember correctly Reset’s pH is only 8.9 which isn’t basic enough to hurt the LSPs you mention. Perhaps overtime they don’t last as long but I don’t think Reset would remove or severely...

    Re: Topper Slickness

Yeah, I guess I only spoke about performance but left application feedback out of my response. The CarPro combo is fairly easy to use but Syncro is easier.

    Re: Topper Slickness

UK 3.0 topped with Gliss v2 is close. Some report that combo lasts longer than Syncro. I’ve had Syncro on my car for 13 months and it’s still great. I also have the other combo on my wife’s car...

    Re: Griots g9 broken?

Griot’s said the new manufacturer only makes products for them and no other company will get polishers from that same source this time. Adam’s just copied the design.

Re: PFM towels with Bead Maker

I used BM for a little while and saw no impact on my PFM towels. It is not that good of a sealant so I don't expect any long term issue even if you only have 1 or 2 PFMs and don't alternate much.

Re: Speed Master Detailer's Seat Review

Wheels look too small to be smooth on uneven surfaces. The other model with bigger wheels should be better.
  24. Re: Griot's Garage LIVE : G8 Mini Random Orbital Polisher

That seems like a nice tool. I have a preorder in. Sold my 7424XP that I used as 3” polisher yesterday.
  25. Re: McKee’s coating prep wash to rejuvenate coating

In the past Nick said it would be a good idea to use that coat prep wash as a way to revive the coating. I did find it pretty good at removing whatever was left from an aging sealant.
