Re: Easy to apply ceramic coating

Well it never rains in Ca so that could be why it's lasting long for you. I live in the N.E. and barely get 4-5 months out of CanCoat.

    Re: Clay disaster??

If you watch the DIY Detail youtube channel, they claim their clay towel, even though they call it a ridiculous name, doesn't marr the paint. I call BS everytime I hear it.
  3. Re: "The Absorber" - the microfiber drying towel of the 80's does anyone still use it? I do.

Just bought the above Wizards absorber. Don't see the point to this thing as you can't really dry the car well. All it does is squeak along the paint and very tough to glide it over any standing...

    Re: CanCoat Application Problems

Just got done doing a Honda Accord in blue. There are several high spots showing now as the sun has gone down. How do you get rid of those so I can re-coat those areas? They weren't there when I...

    Re: I’ve tried Beadmaker...

I know but Pan made it sound like it was the best thing in the detailing world. Far from it.

    Re: I’ve tried Beadmaker...

10 pages in this thread and crickets from Pan. He definitely is about himself on this forum and will be the first to tell you about "his newest and greatest video" the second he posts one. I too...

Re: My New Favorite Drying Aid!

Too bad its super expensive at 80 bucks a gallon.
  10. Re: The case against multi-year ceramic paint coatings - Road Grime = Surface Staining Daily Drivers by Mike Phillips

Wouldn't that acid cleaner for example Megs wheel brightener degrade the coating?

    Re: Fk1000p

I never had luck with it. It was always a bear to get off for me, always missed a spot somewhere and you could see it.

    Re: Coating Single Stage Paint

I've used it on my single stage white without issues for about 3 years before polishing it off.
  13. Re: I bought a WORX 20V Powershot cordless power cleaner, anyone use one?

The Sun Joe that Scott has on his channel seems to be a bit better than this one pressure wise anyway.
  14. Re: Will a ceramic coating hold up to Midwest winter?

I've had several coatings on my vehicles and I'm pretty much done with them. You're still getting traffic film on the car that eventually needs to be buffed off. And by doing that, you're also...
  15. Re: Griots Garage BOSS G15/G21 Long-Throw Orbital Polisher Free Bonus! **LIMITED TIME PROMOTION**

Any other differences between the two polishers other than MM throws? One correct faster than the other? Not a pro, just a weekend hobbyist.
  16. Re: Griots Garage BOSS G15/G21 Long-Throw Orbital Polisher Free Bonus! **LIMITED TIME PROMOTION**

How does it compare to a Rupes 21 mk2?

    Re: 3D HD Speed?

I would say moderate defects, visible swirl marks and some rids but definitely not hammered paint.

    Re: 3D HD Speed?

I didn't prime the pad, started out with 3 pea size spots on clean pad. I did work it in the sun but was under the impression that isn't an issue with speed.

    Re: 3D HD Speed?

Used HD Speed today on my 2013 Honda Accord. Temp outside was 60 degrees. I used a PC with yellow Megs foam pad and I had severe dusting with it. I kept the pad clean too. Anyone have any idea...
  20. Re: Sneak Peek Review: McKee's 37 Tire Coating

I've had the coating on the tires for 4 weeks now with 3 coats each. I can barely tell it's even on there. Has a faint look to it. A little disappointed in the durability part of it. I cleaned...
  21. Re: Sneak Peek Review: McKee's 37 Tire Coating

I like the coating but could only get 2 cars done with it (3 coats on one, 2 on other). The way they market this, they said it is enough to do dozens of tires. Far from that in my experience.
  22. Water spots on McKee's paint coating.

I applied this coating about a month ago. Recently had parked my vehicle next to a sprinkler system without knowing it existed prior to doing so. There are now dried up water spots all over the...
  23. Re: Single stage paint, Toyota Tundra. Chalky much?

I've always had the same issues with my truck. After polishing a few years back, I ended up coating it. That has kept it from getting the chalky look ever since.

Re: Review: Ultima Waterless Wash Plus (UWW+)

I'm not sure it's any better than any other rinseless wash. The price tag on that is almost double.

Re: Review: Ultima Waterless Wash Plus (UWW+)

Isn't UWW not really worth it as a rinseless? If my math is correct, there is 16 oz in a bottle which means you only get 16 washes out of it (1oz per 3 gall) compared to a gallon of ONR or any other...
