    Re: coating after paint

Gtechniq coatings have been said to be gas permeable. I’ve never tried it but you can reach out to a Gtechniq rep to get more info.

    Re: Best beading product?

My point being is for you to create a thread on here and state your observations over the course of the year with the Meguiar’s product. Possibly even a side by side next to CanCoat. It’s a...

My advice. Is to post a long term thread on here with your experience with Meguiar’s. Not just text but photos and videos. And finally without any toppers.

    Then...

    Re: Best beading product?

This is one guy I would not consider or reference for any detailing advice.

You're right. Most of these products don't do anything for UV. Dimitry's Garage actually has a decent way to...

Exactly. You and I both know the true results from testing things in the real world rather than letting them sit on the hood outside. The results are different.

    Re: Best beading product?

His tests are not really gospel when it comes to durability. A data point? Sure. But the true test is actually using it for oneself.

He doesn’t always get the application right. Just like The...

Re: Best Brand Top to Bottom

Their ACA compound is very good. 3D One is not bad.

Their coating is ok. Hope they tweak the formula to be more hydrophobic and have a better self cleaning effect.

    Re: GYEON G2 Wax

Mike is no longer at Autogeek. You could just add the wax. It’s not picky like a coating.
  14. Re: Ceramic coating on new car and already coated car

If you’re happy with the car that was coated years ago you could just wash it and follow up with the topper of your choice.

You could technically add another layer but have you used anything on...

    Re: Matte Stripe cleaning question

The last time I cleaned matte vinyl graphics I went over them with Meguiar's M39 for a deep clean and followed up with a panel wipe prior to coating them.

    Re: Ceramic coating and water.

Should be fine. By this point it has cured to where moisture won't impact it. 1 week to wash is typical. Enjoy it.

Re: Bug remover & topcoat reapply

If it is opti-seal then it is not going to last with any bug remover or APC. Pick up a bottle and reapply. It is not that hard to apply and it is not that durable.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Yes it contains SiO2 in it. It is a spray sealant. Just dubbed as a drying aid as that is how Matt uses it. It is B&B slipstream or Xtreme Solutions Topper.

    It works fine. Typical spray...

  21. Re: What do you put on a vehicle that never gets washed or rained on?

If you go with a coating you want to put that down first. And no need for a wax on top of it.

    Re: New Opti-Coat Hyper Seal

I would give it a little longer to have the polymers and whatever little ceramic in it to cure a bit before washing it. A second layer with a spray sealant is not really needed.
