And the Megs MF Discs are good, too.

  2. Re: What has The Guz been up to? Big Brakes & Coatings

Honestly, the spin never bothered me.
Having two 3401s, I didn't see a need to try a Mille. Might be smoother, maybe, but I have been plenty happy with the 3401, and now the XCE

Gear driven is lovely. No worries about pad stall. Focus on paint, instead.

Yeah yeah, you will get passed the "oddities" of the flex.

Re: Claybar vs. Iron Remover 50/50 Test

    Thanks El Dorado!

Now I feel better. I sometimes don't use iron remover prior to paint correction. There are times when I do rinseless washing, and I'd rather have a hose and running water to...

Re: Thinking of getting the XCE 125-8

    1. Hard to say. Partly because I do other things aside from polishing. So it is not straight time using the machine. Also, I do switch out when I see the last light being lit (battery life indicator...

Re: Thinking of getting the XCE 125-8

Beloved 3401? Yeah, I feel you.
I love mine so much, I have two. One is custom.

Since getting the CBEAST, I haven't used the 3401s. Cordless is sweet, especially me that I'm mobile. I don't...

    Re: Thank you Mike Phillips

Thank you, Mike, for your countless articles and dedication to this field.

I've learned a lot from you, and it was such a pleasure working alongside with you on Competition Ready.

  11. Re: Blackfire Pro Ceramic Coating, "Black Edition".

My experience is different than that of The Guz.

I do find that Black Edition is hydrophobic and has decent self cleaning

Of the 5 currently on my hood, Black and Poorboy's stay the cleanest...

  13. Re: Review: BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax

I think, only if the top layer of LSP doesn't bond well with the underlying one step.

For example, the Blackfire Sealant was hard for some waxes to bond with it, so they made the Midnight Sun to...

Had to come in and revisit this thread.
My co-worker keeps complaining about water spots. I coated his car some time back, but with COVID, we mostly work from home and I haven't seen his car.

    Was...

Re: Best Carnauba wax for shine/gloss red car !

Maybe because they don't use the buzzword "graphene" - hehe

I have all the Poorboy's waxes, I think. Love them. So easy to use, even on hot panels.

At about the 56 second mark, that's the Blackfire Black Edition. At about 1:08, that's the "regular" BF coating.

  25. Re: Review: BLACKFIRE Iron Remover by Mike Phillips

There are two camps on this. Both have decent arguments.
