  1. Re: Cutting Differences between Sonax SONAX EX 04-06 and Rupes Quarz Gloss for use 2017 Honda Civic

In terms of the best one-step approach, I personally would go with Sonax Perfect Finish with RUPES yellow pad.

Of course, a multi-step process will yield the best results.

    Going from Keramik to...

    Hey there!

Welcome. Where about in Maine are you?
  5. Re: Sonax PNS, GYEON Cancoat or Optimum Opti-Seal

All these products, when applied properly, will yield up to 6 months if I am not mistaken. I haven’t used CanCoat yet, but the other ones will work as advertised. I think that the few times I used...
  6. Re: Do microfiber-specific detergents clean any better than "free & clear" detergents?

Micro-Restore doesn?t just clean microfiber, it restores microfiber!

Have you used this yet? It works wonders and does make a difference.
  7. Re: If you could only use two or three product lines for all your detailing needs, what would you choose?

I exclusively use the RUPES system. Slowly I have been diving into and loving P&S products. They work and are priced reasonably.
  8. Re: If you could only use two or three product lines for all your detailing needs, what would you choose?

    1) RUPES
    2) Optimum
    3) Meguiar’s

Honorable mentions goes to CARPRO. They make spectacular products. I just wanted a balance of cost and quality.

Re: Use old business name or start new one?

This is an easy one for me as I would go with a new name personally. Having the opportunity for a fresh start is nice when you know you can.

    Re: Steamers...

I’d just buy a quality one and get it over with. I went through 5 rounds of replacing/repairing my Mcculloch steamer.

With all the money put towards that, I could have already purchased a more...

    Re: Steamers...

I wouldn’t go as far as saying you are wasting your time with a cheap one. It’s is still very possible to get great results with an economic model. I did it for years.
  13. Business Advice About Joining Mechanic Shop With My Detailing Shop Question

I strongly agree to stay away from percentage. It’s best to pay for your own space or at least sublet space from him at a minimum.

TRUST ME! Even if you gave him 30% (as an example). Do $3000 of...

  15. Re: Do Coatings Provide MORE Gloss than Sealants or Waxes?

  20. Re: non-professional comparison Rupes V Griot's G15

It’s been so long since I had LHR21 set up with a 5” backing plate, but the LHR15 MKII as well as the latest MKIII are smoother than the 21mm w/ 5” BP I feel.

In terms of stalling, they both are...
  21. Re: non-professional comparison Rupes V Griot's G15

They both are similar if not identical in terms of power and stalling. You are practically investing in more rubber and a longer cord.

I currently use Optimum Power Clean. But quite honestly, I am thinking about going back to Meguiar’s D101 because it performs very well for the price.

They both perform great. But I give the edge...

    Re: what do you charge?

I use Optimum Car Wax with mine because if I used a more durable wax or sealant and say, “Come back in 6 months.” They come back in 12 months anyway. It keeps cost down. It’s still is a great...
