  1. Re: Spray on ceramic coating---how many towels per vehicle?

I should have done a test. Got an old car here that doesnt work. Should have cleaned a panel and taped off 3 sections.

    1st section leave alone
    2nd use my saturated towel
3rd spray on a coat and...
  2. Re: Spray on ceramic coating---how many towels per vehicle?

To reply to the comments yes, i used a ton of product. Several areas got treated 4 or 5 times in a row. My roof and hood have bad oxidation.

Truck was washed and used a nanomitt.

    Thats...
  3. Re: Spray on ceramic coating---how many towels per vehicle?

After i finished doing the truck my towel used to apply the coating was pretty damp. Not soaked, but damp.

My question is how much UV protecting coating is left in the towel? Is the liquid in the...
  4. Spray on ceramic coating---how many towels per vehicle?

Hi everyone i just got done applying a spray on ceramic coating (hydrosilex) to a full size truck. This product is expensive and i dont want to lose a lot of liquid into the towel. So i find myself...

Re: To those without a garage.

Depends on what combo youre working with.
I have no garage, matched with no close neighbors.
So i go crackhead style and wake up at 4am setting up shop lights.

Re: clay bar/nano mitt over RV stickers

    Rock on thanks.
Any opinions on using soap with the nano mitt?

Seems like it would save money and time versus using a spray bottle and Glide over a huge trailer. But Glide must have much more...

clay bar/nano mitt over RV stickers

I have a gel coat trailer with stickers. Still struggling to understand what i should do before applying a spray on ceramic coating.
Plan was to buy a nanoskin mitt. How careful do you need to be...
  8. Re: nanoskin wash mitt questions--bubble bath or slick--use IPA before coating?

Thanks so much for the information!! I saw Apex detail reviewed the Sonax Perfect Finish recently.
All i dont own a DA or an air polisher. On the nano website they showed a guy using the air...
  9. Re: nanoskin wash mitt questions--bubble bath or slick--use IPA before coating?

Thanks for the replies. Might go with the 6" pad and an air powered sander.
Thoughts? I dont have a sander yet. But seems like the lightest and quickest way.
  10. Re: nanoskin wash mitt questions--bubble bath or slick--use IPA before coating?

I have some of that actually. The vehicle and boat wash. Thought i would need something more slippery for the clay or nano mitt?
  11. Re: nanoskin wash mitt questions--bubble bath or slick--use IPA before coating?

    Had a 3 question.
Whats better the wash mitt or the 6" pad with the hand applicator? The 6" pad can serve both purposes. Unless theyre constructed different.
Ive tried writing nanoskin twice over...
  12. nanoskin wash mitt questions--bubble bath or slick--use IPA before coating?

Checking out the nanoskin wash mitt. Does anyone have experience using the bubble bath versus the Slick spray?
Had some very basic questions because i dont know much about detailing.

    1. I want...
  13. Re: Foam cannon applied ceramic coatings--have tips?

To update the thread i sprayed water on the 3 areas that i applied the coating dry. At first i couldnt really see a difference at all. But after time the areas i applied dry seemed to have less water...

Meguiars Deep Crystal Car Wash--not a fan

I was rushed for time and wanted to squeeze in a car wash. Was at Lowes and they had this product for $5. Checked amazon and it has 4.5 stars so i bought it. Ended up washing an RV, full size truck...
  15. Re: Foam cannon applied ceramic coatings--have tips?

Thanks the youtube guy i like to watch reviewed that HydroFoam as well in his "spray on coatings" series. The stuff looks like a great way to wash a lightly dusted vehicle and leave behind more...
  16. Re: Foam cannon applied ceramic coatings--have tips?

At 3:33 he uses the foam cannon.

  17. Re: Foam cannon applied ceramic coatings--have tips?

Yes a garden sprayer is another option. One negative is that i would have to dump $40 worth of product into the garden sprayer so it has enough volume. With the foam cannon you can attach the bottle...
  18. Re: Foam cannon applied ceramic coatings--have tips?

Thanks for the replies. Using the foam cannon for speed of application. Imagine how many squirts from a spray bottle it would take to coat a 30 foot RV. Moving the ladder every 3 feet.
  19. Re: Foam cannon applied ceramic coatings--have tips?

Yes the product i have is designed as a spray and rinse. Checked out the McKees Hydro and it looks like that stuff could also be applied with a foam cannon.
  20. Re: Foam cannon applied ceramic coatings--have tips?

You add the ceramic coating into the foam cannon. Spray onto the wet vehicle and do a final rinse with clean water. The rinsing is what spreads the product. The foam cannon method does not use towels...
  21. Foam cannon applied ceramic coatings--have tips?

Any of you have experience applying ceramic coatings with the foam cannon? Wish there were more videos on this. Im told applying dry and buffing lasts longer on the vehicle. It probably also uses...
  22. Re: Looking for a reasonably priced foam cannon soap...

Apex Detail has a great series on shampoos. He shows them through different foamers. Talks about lubricity. Can find him on y tube.
