  1. Re: LIVE Detailing Class - How to clean & protect Micro-Suede & Alcantara - 65 Carbon Corvette

The time slot was perfect (for me, hehe).

I tuned in and watched during my lunch break.

YES, the Microsoft keyboards with the Alcantara do get grimey! and yes, I have used the Sonax products...

Totally forgot about that! Haven't used Speed in while.

Car looks nice, and the chip repair looks great!

Re: The Evolution of the AIO

I've been seeing a bit of push from Rupes AIO.

They have their place, that's for sure. Still loving the Blackfire One Step.

Re: Your thoughts on 15,000 mile oil changes..

First, let me take some cover.

I bought a new Toyota Yaris back in 2008. Used to do oil changes at about 5-7,000 miles until i hit 10 years of ownership. That was my goal, to have the car at least...

Re: 2010 Porsche Black - Suggestions

I did one mostly with a 15mm machine. A forced rotation DA can also work quite well on them.

Just used Blackice myself over the weekend

Scott gave me a starting point on a black...
  7. Re: Quick and easy tire detailing - Use water-based all-in-one rubber & vinyl cleaner/conditioners instead of tire dressings

    Thanks for that honest tip.

Oddly enough, almost all the cars I've done for people have been "car guys" and are NOT into shiny tires. I have a ton of Megs Hyper Dressing sitting on a shelf....
  8. Re: Review & How-To: BLACKFIRE Pro Ceramic Paint Coating Black Edition

WOW - I'm not huge on water beads like others are, but dang, those are some nice looking beads ! !

    Nice job, Blackfire!

    Great work, Mike!

    Whole new system.

Been meaning to post about it, along with screenshots.

  10. Re: Question for mobile detailing guys with small vans?

Gravity feed does suck. Shurflo makes a pump to run off 12V. But I'm sure Suds has a generator and a "regular" pump.

    Re: Going Flex...!

I doubt it. So many of those out there, I'm sure they got parts. But, I only hear of failures rarely, and after many years of hard use.

I have two and intend to keep

    Re: Going Flex...!

    Meh, why not.

I've used UHS on the 3401 and it worked fine.
I have also used the Megs MF cut discs on 3401. It works, but not exactly the best set up. Maybe just a tad too thin?

    Re: C-Beast quick thoughts!

    Re: C-Beast quick thoughts!

I was thinking of similar. Starting with the small Griots 3" and the Flex Pe8

I did pick up cordless Dewalt random orbital. Comparable to a BOSS G15.

I have some Dewalt batteries, so it made...

I have some "stories" to share. I have plenty of pics, too. Just need to make the time to post.

I'll refer to this thread, of course, to save some time!

    Re: Blackfire Clay Mitt: Useless?

The BF Mitt is not useless. I think it works well for most jobs. It is not the most aggressive "clay" I've used, but it's proved to be effective enough I picked up a 2nd one. Yes, now I have TWO of...
