Re: Not sure how to fix this scratch/chip?

So leave some excess paint around the the chip and it will buff right off?

Re: Not sure how to fix this scratch/chip?

With Dr color chip, explain multiple applications please. My garaged car has a few small chips and I won't touch them till I know I'll have a good result with a repair.

Re: Whats your "Go To" Polish?

Is there any issue with using BOSS pads and creams on the GG6? I'm thinking of getting the 5 inch backing plate and using these pads and polishes.

Re: When Did This Get So Complicated?

I'm a noob but I think it's nuts how companies don't label thier products like the meguires pro compounds do, showing the scale of aggressiveness.

  9. Re: Terry cloth , microfiber and foam pads by hand difference ?? For aio, interior dressing , leather care

I haven't been doing this long, but it seems the GG pads whether for machine or by hand just absorb way to much product when applying liquid wax or sealants. The cheap pads that come in the box...

Re: Polishing Pad Cleaners - which one

Am I correct about the articles focus on pad surface cleaning only?

Re: Polishing Pad Cleaners - which one

I looked at the article on McKee's cleaner. Perhaps I'm trying to clean the whole pad, perhaps unnecessary. Looks like the article is showing cleaning mainly a thin layer that touches the paint.

Re: Polishing Pad Cleaners - which one

I used goo gone on a hand pad to remove sealant, but I'm not sure it's good for the pad.

Re: Polishing Pad Cleaners - which one

I find compounds and polishes easy to remove, it the selants that are difficult. On selants what works?

  16. Re: wash and wax shampoo does it cause build up??

I know if I use Meguires gold class wash it can leave some product if I use too much and that's not even a wash and wax. I just know it can leave something that doesn't wash right off.

I wonder the same thing, for sure don't use too much for each wash.

Re: How to wash microfiber towels and pads?

One thing that helps me is if you have non water based products in the pad run the buffer on high to sling extra product out before cleaning by hand. In a bucket of course.

Re: Meguires Ultimate Liquid Wax Pad Issue

The hydo tech pads say for water based products, is that an issue?

Would the crimson CCS pad be a better choice?

Re: Meguires Ultimate Liquid Wax Pad Issue

I'm just not sure the Griot's pads are compatible with ULW. Even a slightly firmer one. The LC crimson pad looks interesting. I've got the GG 6 inch DA.

I'm going to select a closed cell finishing pad for my next machine application try with ULW.

Re: Meguires Ultimate Liquid Wax Pad Issue

It does go on thin, but the red pad just eats product. Like 95%.

Why does the pad have to absorb wax, I would think an 8th inch of open cell with the other half inch just for padding would be...
