Re: Best footwear for auto detailing?

Not saying I'd wear them in public but... Crocs. Wearing in public I actually like Sketchers shoes.
  2. Re: Newbie preparing for ceramic coating - (CQUARTZ UK 3.0)

That is what I use (I modified my post from terry to microfiber). I did not mention the 300's as I don't see that AG is selling them. However, it is all I use for polish removal now. I reviewed shat...

    Re: Meg MF Pad Sizes

I can understand and would want them to be just slightly bigger. The problem I have is that the Meg packaging has huge type stating that they are 6" pad. In smaller type way under that is the truth.....

    Re: Meg MF Pad Sizes

At first the "6 inch", sorry 6.25 inch pads were working on the 5 inch backing plate but after a wash or two they became unstable on the plate at best and Frisbees at worse. I measured by Flex plate...
  5. Re: Newbie preparing for ceramic coating - (CQUARTZ UK 3.0)

You want a towel with a low pile. I actually switched to a terry towel with a GSM of 365. I find it works much better at removing polishing compound. However, most anything with a low pile will work...

    Re: Which sealant?

I'd say something but Paulmys is stealing all of my thoughts/comments! :)

Opinion time... ceramic waxes work... but IMHO they are more marketing hype then anything else. They don't work any better...

    Meg MF Pad Sizes

Let me start by saying, this was a mistake that _I_ made and I'll own it. I recently bought a polisher with a 5" backing plate. Wanted to pick up some microfiber pads and I saw some Meg's 6" pads....

    Re: Max Shine/Shine Master Branding

I actually watched good reviews of it. I don't think it is a great polisher but I suspect it will do just fine for a non-professional.

Picked up a Maxshine, I mean Shine Master, I mean...

Have a Flex 3401 and love it. Also use a Flex PE8 for small spots. Have a Porter Cable as well but it stays in the bag these days. Wanted to...
  10. Re: Good polish and compound combo other than Meguiar's

I think a good question is, why do you feel UC is not working for you. What pads are you using with it? Are you working the UC long enough? Perhaps the problem is not the compound but rather...

Re: Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant - Thinned Out

This is the 3.0 version. I've shaken it up before but this time I took your advice and shook it "like a mad" man" for about 1 minute. I was really surprised as this did get it to thicken up more then...

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant - Thinned Out

Probably an odd question but does anyone know how to make a sealant thicker? I have been using Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant (the best sealant I've ever used) but the liquid has gone super thin,...

Re: How to avoid germs - Gas Station

Hand sanitizer kills bacteria. You are probably most worried about a virus. Hand sanitizer will make matters worse and washing your hands is just as effective. Consider spending a little more on...

Re: How to avoid germs - Gas Station

57Rambler beat me to it. A gas pump handle is probably 1 of a thousand things you touch in a day. Can't see avoiding one out of a thousand things doing much... other then offering some peace of mind....

Re: Best way to apply 303 protectant?

A trick I have when the interior is textured... apply 303 and with a gloved hand, massage it "into" the plastic or vinyl. Wait a hour or few hours and then wipe it down (don't wait overnight). Looks...

    Re: Meguiars hybrid ceramic topping

I'd recommend making sure the paint is smooth to start with. use a clay product if needed.

    Re: 303 vs Hyper Dressing

I use HD on engines, tires and wheel liners. I use 303 on other interior and exterior plastics and rubber. HD is far less expensive and I think it does best when lightly sprayed on and left to...

    Re: Meguiars Hyper Dressing

Mist is onto a dry engine. You don't need to coat everything completely, it seems like Hyper Dressing has some magical properties and migrates around what it is applied to. I use it on tires and the...

Re: Anyone else jack themselves up detailing?

At first I thought the question was about jacking up the vehicle while working. Suppose that could still apply. I just bought a much better detailing chair (one with a back) and I made some wood...

    Re: Soap

To determine if claying is needed, simply rub your hand over the paint or place a plastic bag over your hand and rub over the paint. No need to remove wax. A coating of wax is so much thinner then...
  22. Re: Drying towels , 1-2 towels enough? And MF towel detergent question.

Just use the correct amount for a free and clear detergent. Using too much detergent is worse, not better. If you use the same type of towels often, you may want to consider buying more and doing...

When a vehicle is maintained and you have a decent set up, you should be able to hand wash in about 30 minutes.

    Re: 303 Wiper Treatment

I don't see why this product would not simply be their normal protectant... on little spot applicator wipes.... at an inflated cost.

I use 303 on my wipers as they don't have inserts (most don't...
  25. Re: CQuartz UK applied with no prep work - how to best remove

How will polishing with contaminants in the paint make anything worse? The coating is much softer than the clear. I'd think polishing should remove pretty much all of the coating. You could then...
