  1. Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

Issue with Ceramic Pro is that they recommend multiple layers for most effective use. Issue with that is, that means with that many layers required, each individual application doesn't have a high...
  2. Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

Ya it's Ceramic Pro. Not exactly the most stellar on the market.

Basically, for the rest of his car, I'd suggest having some kind of a good detailing spray that he can use. Something along the...
  3. Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

Perhaps Rinseless washing would be a good choice for him.
  4. Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

Best thing to do might be to try a slightly different soap and re-wash and see. If the same thing happens, might be the water. Might I suggest if you have the time, to join him for a wash? Perhaps...
  5. Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

His water is too hard. When he dries, he's not getting all of it up that's why he's seeing the smears. I doubt it's hyperwash. My suggestion, get him to use something as a drying aid when he dries,...

    Re: Questions about machine polishing

Scholl S40 works perfectly fine with a long throw DA.

    Re: Carpro Essense Plus

I'll take a look at it when I get home, but it says 3.

Re: What Happened To My Ceramic Coating?

Don't get me wrong, I use coatings for myself but I use fall out remover and it's back to being fine after a good wash. That I can accept but with Reload, it feels like the next step is to clay and...

Re: What Happened To My Ceramic Coating?

The contamination build up from Reload. For whatever reason, a month after having reload on with consistent washes, the paint already feels like sandpaper again. I don't get that with the other...

Re: What Happened To My Ceramic Coating?

No, it's definitely not a quick detailer. Mind you, it's not just Reload. Reload, Cure, etc, a lot of those products I find give great water beading, and adds some gloss but that's usually about it.

    Re: Carpro Essense Plus

I find it adds a very high gloss glassy look to the paint. It's not as much of a glow as other stuff but I like the glassy look of it so I use it. Plus, I find it super easy to use and apply even in...

Re: What Happened To My Ceramic Coating?

Chemical Guys Speedshine Detailer. Has basically the same level of protection, and hides light swirls. Also adds gloss. Also can be used in direct sunlight without any finicky application processes....

Re: What Happened To My Ceramic Coating?

I personally just don't know what the point of Reload is to be honest. Considering what it does or doesn't do, there are cheaper options if you just want to add a bit of gloss and easier to use ones....

Re: New to correction, scratch removal

I've never used griots stuff so I can't say. Generally, I would get about 5 orange pads and 4 polishing pads. I also have about 4 microfiber cutting pads as well but that depends on how much you're...

    Re: Detailing Pricing

The prices do seem a bit low for paint correction. It also depends on the market that you're aiming for to be honest. Paint correction. I'm not mobile, and I just do it on the side. For me, I don't...
  16. Re: Any good coatings/wraps for protecting plastic exterior parts from scratches?

Basically only vinyl wrap, and it'll only protect for as deep as it goes. It does depend on the plastic, if something can even be adhered to it.
  17. Re: I tried IGL Renew F4 for the first time today

Thanks Joe. It's something I'm looking at because I try not to polish more than once every two years to save clearcoat. If someone needs their car re-polished or wants their car repolished after 6...

Re: New to correction, scratch removal

Not gonna lie.. I say I always use Sonax but I've got 3D and Scholl Concept stuff just for fun.
  19. Re: Getting a brand new car ; what should I use to protect it ??

My bias is always on a coating. They just perform better overall.
  20. Re: 7yr Old Ford Focus ST Get's the Business

Great job, there's something very nice about freshly cleaned up white paint, got a nice gentle glow to it. I find white to be higher maintenance than black because not only does it look dirty...

Re: New to correction, scratch removal

You're gonna have 50 people with 50 different product lines they like. Basically, more aggressive pad, and you'll most likely need a fast cutting liquid and then a finishing liquid.

    Re: Micro-marring on black paint

I do the exact opposite of TTQ, I work mostly long throw instead of rotary/forced rotation. I just find it smoother. Perhaps try M105 with some water spritzed onto the panel. It keeps the abrasives...
  23. Re: I tried IGL Renew F4 for the first time today

How was F4 to use? Was there a lot of dusting? How easy was it to wipe off? Did you find the process temperature dependant?

Re: How to Make Money on SUV's

You cut down on time with small things. Rinseless wash the paint with something like ONR or McKee, use Optimum CarWax or Mckees Fast Wax as clay lube. Wipe off, done. Saved yourself a lot of time in...

Re: New to correction, scratch removal

At best, you'll be able to minimize it. Don't go nuts with cutting the clearcoat, it's not great. You need 2 mil for actual protection, most factories ship them out at barely 3 mils. You prolly need...
