Re: De Lamination or Scuff Marks?

Definitely looks scuffed from curbing. Look at that wheel and you can tell how talented that driver is.

Also, applying a coating to brand new tires is not recommended, you should clean them...

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

omg, that's a lot of tree sap on that car!

Just kidding, giving you a hard time because I know about your new parking situation. It looks pretty nice :D

Re: Hand Application of One-Step Sealant

Thanks. My first few pictures in that gallery were with the Wolfgang Sealant I recommended. Nowadays I use ceramic coatings. A lot more work at first but then it's so much easier to keep the car...

Re: Hand Application of One-Step Sealant

    Welcome.

If you're hand applying it and not polishing, I would suggest skipping clay bar because that can leave marring on the paint that won't come off unless you polish it.

    Also, I think I...

Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

Yeah, he should bring it back to the person that coated it and have them wash it once, in front of him, so he can see if the same thing happens there. If it doesn't, then he has learned what they...

    Re: Mike Phillips is right...

I considered getting one yesterday. But I currently only care for my car which is freshly corrected and coated so it will be a while before I can use any polisher and rarely would I need that much...

Re: Bmw x3 2019 steering wheel scratch help?

With time the abrasion from you touching it / wiping it will make it less noticeable. But can’t completely fix it unless you replace the leather. Some people use a magic eraser, which is abrasive,...
  8. Re: Daily sap on car...the war is on, could use some advice!

My brother's town in NJ is the opposite, can't park on the street overnight. I once was parked on the street and before going to bed it was pouring, I was like screw that, I'm not moving the car to...

Re: What is your current favorite waterless wash?

I currently use McKee's 37 N-914. I've used ONR and Uber before but N-914 is better than both of those. I have used Ech2o a couple of times and it was fine. Although I didn't see any streaking...

Did you unpack already? If not, move again, buyers remorse :p
  11. Re: Daily sap on car...the war is on, could use some advice!

Every time you wipe the coating, be it washing, drying, or to feel the slickness, it’s abrading the finish and therefore reducing the life of the coating. So yes, daily wipe down will reduce the...

Watch the video from Mike and Yancy they did yesterday. You’ll definitely save time.

Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

Says right on the package of the towels to wash before first use. I don't think it came from the towel but it could be. Doesn't hurt to wash it and try again.

Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

I see you mention his car was professionally coated but do we know what coating was used? Might help narrow down what's going on if it's some coating that needs a topper before it leaves the shop. ...

Re: Coating experts: I need your opinions here

I wonder if he's rinsing properly. Could be using a power washer that puts out the pressure but very low volume of water and not really rinsing it all. Because of the pressure he thinks it's rinsed...

Re: Gyeon CanCoat vs Gyeon Trim

The only trim coating I've used is Dlux and I haven't had a reason to change. Like Guz said, it's nice that it also works on wheels and plastics. Very versatile and "cheap" as it covers several...

    Re: When coarse isn't enough

If they are deep enough the nail catches, then it's too deep to correct.
If they are not that deep yet but still pretty deep, wet sanding is necessary but you have to think if it's worth removing...

    Re: Micro-marring on black paint

I don’t know if your Golf has hard paint but I’m guessing maybe it does and when you use a soft pad and 205 it might have just enough cut to scratch it but can’t correct the defects. Try a polishing...

    Re: Win a PRIZE!

I'll definitely try that method on the tires. I don't have a rotary so hopefully a brush attachment on my drill will be good enough.

Re: Adams UV Ceramic vs. CarPro CQuartz

    Interesting finding for sure.

I wonder how well CQuartz by itself would have held up if you didn't top with Gliss. Gliss was their solution for water spotting (at least to mitigate the risk) but...

    Re: Review: BLACKFIRE Car Dryer

I have the McKee's version of this and it works fine but it's cumbersome to use and I end up using my Metrovac Sidekick most of the time. Carrying this on your shoulder and that thick hose around...

    Re: WGDGPS topped with Fuzion

I bet it will be even better. The paste wax was a little too expensive for me, and it would last forever. I had plans on going ceramic so the jar would just sit in a cabinet. Even my bottle of the...

    Re: WGDGPS topped with Fuzion

I used the combo. Wasn’t the paste Fuzion, it was the liquid/spray version. Best looking for sure, much more depth than a coating. Paint really looked good. Got about 8 months of protection.
