    Re: Eldorado2k?

Welcome back! Hope you're able to find a little time to participate, but I'm sure being busy is good for business.

As for the brown Marauder, could it be a standard LTD someone has spent a lot of...

    Re: White car

Did you see the improvement from just the claying?

Years ago when I took the plunge and clayed for the first time, it was on a silver car I owned at the time. There was a visible improvement in...

    Re: White car

My experience as well. The most noticeable differences and biggest improvements on the white cars I've worked on all happened long before applying any type of protective product. After claying and...

Re: Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

The styling is pretty bold and not like anything else on the road. I applaud them for doing that without getting ugly.

I also like the idea of the idea of the unibody trucks like this one and the...

    Re: 2021 Coating Test

It's a totally different type of product.

The products he's going to be testing out are a series of high durability, multi-year coatings. The 303 product is more like a highly durable spray...
  6. Re: Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer on a ceramic coated car.

Another suggestion would be using less product and also applying the product to the towel and not directly on the surface. For me, the success of dilution and/or different application/removal...
  7. Re: Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer on a ceramic coated car.

Lots of options available. I typically use QD's designed for ceramic coatings on my coated cars. CarPro Ech2O diluted 1:20 works great for me as a post-wash wipe down/drying aid.

    Re: 2021 Coating Test

Wow, that's a lot of coatings to keep track of!

Really appreciate these tests. They are great reference for future purchases.
  9. Re: The importance of letting fresh paint outgass

Last year my wife's car had some work done and the 90-day wait was in the printed documentation they gave us when picking up the car. I found this interesting because my daughter's car had work...

    Re: Wash Mitt Battle

The microfiber chenille, a.k.a dreadlocks, mitt has been my weapon of choice for a long time. No issues with them and I've bought them from a variety of places over the years.

Re: Looking for an after wash topper spray

Agree to both points and the reason Ech2O is my go-to wipe down/QD and occasional WW product.

I use a 1:20 dilution ratio and even with the 500mL bottle it will last a LONG time. I've barely used...

Re: Can you Believe this is a Hyundai

I really like where Genesis is going with some of their designs. I saw a GV80 the other day for the first time and it was stunning. The GV70 looks great too, though I'm not a fan of the texture on...

Re: Is anyone's car in pristine condition?

Now that my kids are grown it sure is! Once I no longer hauled around small children, keeping the interior pristine is much easier. I love my children dearly, but kids are just messy even when they...
  14. Re: Duragloss 253 - Questions inside about use

I was a long time user of 253 and thought I'd try out PERL...I can't wait for my PERL to run out and get back to 253.

I've always applied it very thin with a foam applicator. Since I like a dark,...

Re: Is anyone's car in pristine condition?

Agree, but then is it really a car or just a piece or art. If I have a fun car, I'm going to drive it because it's fun. That's the whole reason it was built. If I have a more utilitarian car, like...

    Re: Polisher for weekend warrior

I bought the HF version of the PC years ago, and while it has been reliable and worked pretty well, it is still a loud and rough running tool. Some parts are rather cheap and crude. My guess the...
  17. Re: Any benefit for replacing my old PC DA?

Only you can determine whether spending the money for a new polisher will be worth it to you. Are you still pretty happy with your PC? I'll share my recent experience.

I too keep my family cars...
  18. Re: How do you protect rubber trim when using a sealant?

This would be my advice too, and it isn't meant to be mean-spirited .

Whether I'm polishing or applying an LSP of any sort, when I get to any rubber/plastic/vinyl trim, I really slow down and...
  19. Re: I want to try a new compound/polish/wax?

So very true. I started out with the Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Polish. They were great to learn on, but after trying other products I quickly realized there are many quality products which do...

    Re: 2021 Dodge Charger

I owned a Mk6 GTI for 7 years and around 80K miles. I only had one issue with it which was repaired under warranty and a fix action campaign in the first year of ownership. After that it was...

    Re: Pothole Hell

I'm not in New England, but I've noticed our micro-Ice Age in February really did a number on the roads.

The normal winter freeze/thaw cycle always leads to some problems on streets, but lately...

    Re: How to polish/correct wheels

I've never tried it, but Mother's makes some foam polishing cones which will mount on your electric drill. They sell a couple different ones here at AG.

The only downside is I don't know if you...

    Re: Removing Coatings too soon

The smearing is what I look for. Some times the flashing may not be visible (paint color is a big factor) or like Bruno mentioned, flashing is going really slowly. After letting an area sit for...

    Re: 2021 Dodge Charger

    The car looks great!

I'll be doing my son-in-laws new Charger Scat Pack soon and have a couple questions.

    - You only did some spot polishing, but how easy is the paint to correct? The...
  25. Re: Dog Drool on Exterior Streaks Wax. Alternatives?

Dog drool is a mysterious substance. I get the same thing from my dog on a coated car. The drool is really hard to remove no matter what LSP is used.

I've had to use an APC to remove it and...
