    Re: Backing plate failed

All I know is I'm happy I'm getting a new one. I don't think there's anything anyone can do if it winds up behaving the same

    Re: Backing plate failed

I assume the new one is made of better grade material and that it will outperform the original, defective one

    Re: Backing plate failed

As long as they have employees like Rod Kraft I'm confident they will continue to uphold their reputation for excellence!

    Re: Backing plate failed

I experience so much mediocre service from people who simply don't care in other ( non detailing) areas of life that to encounter this truly lifted my spirits. I sincerely mean it when I say it made...

    Re: Backing plate failed

Just wanted to say thanks a million to Mr. Rod Kraft for more than taking care of me. His action really made my week!

    Re: Backing plate failed

    Thanks Rod

All of that is understood. The plate in question was used once, maybe twice before I lost confidence in it. Hopefully the brand new one will be as durable as the machine which I found...

    Re: Backing plate failed

Will Griot's send me a new plate or do I have to request by calling CS?

    Re: Backing plate failed

When I had mine, it disintegrated. I guess that was a manufacturer defect also. I used the one I had to buy to replace it once. I always do fear in the back of my mind that it may fail too. I hope...

    Re: Backing plate failed

Any feedback from Griot's concerning my experience with the backing plate? I'm a little apprehensive about using the one I have

    Re: Backing plate failed

I appreciate that. With the right plate I can use my polisher with confidence. I have a scratch repair job coming up for a friend.

    Re: Backing plate failed

I wouldn't be surprised if they purposely design these plates to fail so you have to buy a new one. This was apparently the case with me and my GG6 plate

    Re: Backing plate failed

Ask to speak to a manager if they give you crap. That's what I should've done.

    Re: Backing plate failed

I hope they make it right for you because they didn't make it right for me with a GG6 backing plate that partly disintegrated.

I had to buy a new plate. This was a few years ago and I remain...

Re: Wash and dry a car in less than 30 minutes!

I actually use it when the car isn't very dirty. I can get away with just foaming, rinsing, and then drying with all dirt gone and marring free results. You must have a healthy layer of LSP to do...

    Re: Film/residue on interior windshield

I have similar issues with my Accord's glass. I think I'm going to have to resort to Griot's Fine Glass Polish.
