  5. Re: I just had my first paying customer...here's what I learned

Click on the link: Rug Doctor

I got it from Wal-Mart for $125. The head is difficult to maneuver, but it works.
  6. Re: I just had my first paying customer...here's what I learned

I started it @ 6pm, in hour into the job and I was in the dark w/ only a flashlight. That slowed me down A LOT. But you're right, I was back tracking a lot.

At the end though, I was exhausted...
  7. Re: I just had my first paying customer...here's what I learned

Absolutely agree. My budget is limited at the moment, but getting a better extractor is in the future. I used a rug doctor, It worked, but it took time, as I had to blot with a rag as well. I have...
  8. I just had my first paying customer...here's what I learned

This weekend was awesome! I had my first paying customer. She purchased an interior cleaning w/ basic wash focusing on stain removal. I charged her $120 and quoted the job time @ 4 hrs (I thought I...

    Re: Pricing Boats and RVs

I could see that working. I need to do a bit more research on process of doing boats. I'm guessing, everything Marine-oriented is very tough, including the hull coating.

    Re: Pricing Boats and RVs

Depending on the size of the RV that could really stretch the $20/ft. Do you add to it, if the RV is taller?

    Pricing Boats and RVs

So, there I was getting a haircut, talking about detailing with another patron.

    he asked, "You do boats?"

    I replied, "I don't"

"You should, you can get $20 a foot"

    Not trying to make this...
  13. Re: How long did it take you and how well did it start off?

    That is funny
  14. Re: how long are you taking to detail an average car?

    Really great advice.

One thing to remember, it's probably already been hit, but remember: slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

At first, I was so worried about doing everything fast that I...

    Re: Logo feedback wanted

#1 is easier to read because of the big font

#2 has a better font style

My advice: Increase the font of #2.

However, you can go either way. The key is to make it readable from a distance.

Re: Tracking Inventory as a Detailing Business

    Pure gold brother! Thank you!

What is your general volume? and, in general, how often do you have to reorder products? It seems like the quantities would last a couple of months.
