I've had 3 more customers since my last post and have made the effort to worry about getting experience. I did, however, have to tell somebody no who came up to me while I was working on another...
I did my first customer yesterday. In the end, even with a $10 dollar tip, I was only at $18/hr before taking into account the products I used. He was excited and satisfied by the work, but I need to...
That's why I decided to go into it versus going back into retail. I really enjoy getting to make a car pop. I also worked for a couple of dealerships and the corners I was taught to cut just felt...
Thank you everyone for the responses! I have my prices set for about $25 an hour for the 2 customers I have Thursday and Friday (each have multiple vehicles).
I am in college and starting to do detailing as a side thing. I know detailing is word of mouth and I had a lady recommend me to another person based solely on the phone...
Thanks for all of the input! The XMT was one of the free gifts so I decided to see what it could do. I need a little bit more aggressive pad and I'll pick up the rest of the BOSS line, too. I'm...
Out of curiosity, I decided to do half and half of the hood of my scratched up jalopy trail rig of a Cherokee. I did 2500, 5000 grit and then went from there to test polishes. ...
I got my toys in and got the chance to try them out. I LOVE the mitt and the rinseless wash is much easier to work with in the Florida heat than trying to get water off quickly without spots!
I have ordered some stuff to further my detailing career to advertise "environmentally friendly" including ONR and a nanoskin mitt. My question is how should I go about using a rinseless...
I don't recall who it was I had heard this from on this forum, but I was at my wits' end with having waterspots ALL over the freshly washed car because I did not dry it RIGHT after...
I got the PC, and if I end up starting to do more paint corrections, I'm going to invest in a flex. The PC is nice, but I really should have gone for the forced rotation.
When I first got it, I took the polisher to it. After about 30 minutes, I thought about what the paint will be going through and ended up stopping right there and just doing my LSP.
I was in Advanced Auto picking up some parts and saw a small shelf with Griot's Garage products. I didn't catch any of the prices, but I did see a good number of their products.
You could always walk out there with no pants and a tinfoil hat and see if the children want to go to space with you like you did in '94. They would be to scared to ever go near your apartment again!
Just an example, my dad says he's seen a lot of Dr. Engineers and Master Engineers who have no idea how to turn a wrench and would rather hire somebody with "less" school and more life.
Don't be afraid of community college. I started out at the University, went well for a bit, and then I stared screwing around. Cut to about a year and a half later, I'm living back at home and...
