  1. Re: Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax, holy cow it’s good!

Yep pretty much the same here. I don’t know when I’m going to be low on the paste because a little goes such a long way.
  2. Re: Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax, holy cow it’s good!

Thanks for sharing that. It sounds like the paste isn’t all that much better to justify the significant difference in price. However, I’ve been using the paste only for years because I didn’t think...

Re: Dealers “man with a towel” got me!

Hope we can trust them to not wash our car when we request it.
  5. Re: Pinnacle Liquid Souveran Wax, holy cow it’s good!

Has anyone used both liquid and paste Souveran together? My understanding is the paste Souveran is supposed to be the ultimate?

Glad you got it restored but it was too bad you had to set aside time to do it in the first place.

I wouldn’t even want them touching my car again.

Re: Dealers “man with a towel” got me!

You might want to consider writing a formal letter to corporate fully explaining your experience and why you are upset. If a car is washed any way even if the service advisor knows it’s not supposed...

Re: New Way to Wash Car?

If I get a used car, I’m buying one of those to do the engine with. Years ago I cleaned engines with APC, numerous brushes, and loads of MFs.Tedious getting in every nook and cranny by hand!

Re: New Way to Wash Car?

That *does* look intriguing for the engine! The engine is one area where the less water used, the better. We generally don’t have to wash the engine frequently so I don’t know if it’s worth buying...

    New Way to Wash Car?

I watched the video. If conserving water is your concern, I would just use a rinseless wash with the distilled water. I would never use Super Clean or Purple Power as my car soap.

    Re: Ceramic coating detailing questions

Those mitts look like typical sheepskin mitts. You could try them to see what you think. Make sure they are soft enough though. I’m not going to be buying any more sheepskin mitts myself. I will...

    Re: Ceramic coating detailing questions

The only time I would ever use buckets to wash with is when washing with the 3 step Valugard ABC system. With that, you have no choice but to use buckets.

A foam gun takes the place of buckets...

    Re: Ceramic coating detailing questions

I’ve used sheepskin mitts since forever. They work well but eventually I’m going to switch to 100% microfiber mitts after seeing a video showing how their nap whisks away dirt better and more safely.

    Re: Ceramic coating detailing questions

Washing with multiple mitts is always a good idea. I don’t use one on each fist though, in fact I don’t wear the mitt at all. I fill up the mitt with soapy solution until it looks like a balloon and...

Re: Question about automatic car wash

Definitely bring more than one mitt if you have to resort to the local car wash.
  18. Re: So its getting into the colder weather now, I need to throw on some protection... suggestions?

Ah, I just had to change the oil in mine yesterday. If I had a push rotary one, I wouldn’t have to worry about it. Your neighbor sounds like a wise person!
  19. Re: So its getting into the colder weather now, I need to throw on some protection... suggestions?

That would be me. Coatings continue to not appeal to me.
  20. Re: So its getting into the colder weather now, I need to throw on some protection... suggestions?

Let alone go through all the fuss of actually applying it and then possibly messing some of them up.

Re: Thinking of getting a black car, that crazy?

I think grey is wise. Definitely hides dirt better. I detail my dad’s grey minivan. If it were black, I’d die!

Yep, they’ll look good for a longer time only if they are garage kept and only driven briefly on sunny days. Not practical for daily driving.

Re: Thinking of getting a black car, that crazy?

I removed some garage dust from my black car with a MF the other day but I do so very gingerly. So far, no marring. I wouldn’t attempt to remove outdoor dust though.
