    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking.

Bob, do you have any opinion on the correlation these brands are making between siloxane/silane and SiO2? IGL Ecoshine for instance, claims to use...

Re: Mckees Krystal Ceramic Wax vs 3 comps

Application wasn’t much different other than it loaded on the applicator thicker and therefore wasn’t as easy to apply thin. This makes sense I think because Synergy spreads really far and boasts...
  3. Re: Review: BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax

I’ve read a lot of members noticing poor durability of carnauba waxes in high heat areas. These were mostly older threads, as maybe folks realize sealants and coatings work better in these...

    Welcome back.
  5. Re: Review: BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Liquid Wax

Not Mike here, but my guess is the Montan wax is the difference.

Unlike the BlackICE paste, this liquid doesn’t seem to include carnauba which would have been another difference

Re: Mckees Krystal Ceramic Wax vs 3 comps

Back window has some polish splatter... Or am I missing something else?

By the way, I forgot to mention originally: none of the four felt sealant-slick after application, but they all have that...

Mckees Krystal Ceramic Wax vs 3 comps

I received Mckees 37 Krystal Diamond SiO2 Ceramic Wax today. It came packaged similar to other PBMG waxes (I know M37 is no longer PBMG, but w/e):

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

I couldn’t find the long-winded guidance about siloxane/silane reacting as SiO2, so for now I will just assume the description on the Ecoshine can means it is a SiO2 ceramic wax.

    To further...

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

For whatever it’s worth, the side of the Ecoshine Wax (I’ve been incorrectly calling it ‘EcoCoat’) tin says “Ecoshine Wax is a hybrid of SiO2 and pure carnauba wax.” I just noticed this today when...

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

    From AG website description:
“IGL EcoShine Wax formulates 100% pure carnauba wax into a solid paste wax using nano-scaled silane and siloxane technology.”

    I’m not a chemist but the nano-scaled...

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

Mine will arrive today (Saturday). I had not yet seen the size of the tin, but now know it’s 8oz thanks to Guz’s video above.

I don’t have anything needing protection to apply to, except the...
  13. Re: Question regarding Ceramic Pro Coating and other important information

    Well explained, Budget! <slow-clapping>.

To Budget’s point about learning from others experiences to get a guesstimate for how long something may last in your environment, here’s an example of how...

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

I agree, I said comparable to coatings but perhaps they aren’t quite on coating level of water behavior... al though then one gets into ‘which coating? Does it include toppers?’ Etc.

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

You should try the wax on the coating... or if your coating is gone, try the wax for a year. I think you will see comparable water properties.

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

This shelf life issue is a big thing for me as I have so much stuff, including SiO2. The hard ceramic waxes like Synergy, Dodo Nano, IGL EcoCoat and now hopefully Mckees Krystal are a huge perk for...

^^ Agreed. Waterless (if not too dirty) or Rinseless wash are the way to go. Rinseless will get some liquid on the ground but not a whole lot... the same amount as a car that’s been rained on...

If Budget goes to the Cars and Coffee in Ohio this weekend and they do have PA Paste and it’s 15% off, I would more than gladly toss you a few additional bucks to pick one up for me.

May necessary to use a spray wax or reapply LSP on lower panels if not going the coating route. I spray with something after every winter RW to ensure my protection doesn’t get too low.

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

Ceramic Waxes should have equivalent or near the same properties of a coating.

I can vouch for Synergy, Dodo Nano and Enigma Wax. I’m sure Budget can confirm for Infinity Wax.

    Re: New - McKee’s 37 Krystal SiO2 Paste Wax

Hopefully we will learn more, but I don’t see any reason why this can’t act itself on a coated car... but likely end up with a lot more than a month of it’s look.
