Re: And then... There was a G8 (Polisher)

Received mine today. Definitely looks like a nice machine. Feels solid. I can’t wait to use it.
  3. Re: Coated under 15 minutes using PBL Surface Coating

Yes, CQuartz is grabby w/o Gliss. That's why they released the topping coat, to fix that issue. It also adds a bit more gloss and water behavior.
Once the car is coated and already had Reload on...
  4. Re: Coated under 15 minutes using PBL Surface Coating

CQuartz feels much different when Gliss is applied over it. The paint then feels slick and more hydrophobic. I don't know if you're willing to now put that on top due to how complicated it can be...

Re: My new car: 2000 Cadillac DHS

Nice detailed post. I'm not a fan of Cadillacs at all but yours looks mint. Nice job restoring it. Hopefully you get to enjoy it for a long time.

    Re: PBL Paint Coating

1- yes, you can use ONR
2- no, at least not in my opinion. Bead maker is poop
3- maybe. Some like to top their coatings. I prefer to not do it

Re: Making Grigio Metallic paint POP and WET

The pen works fine. And so does Dr Colorchip. You can use the pen to apply some Dr Colorchip and then level with the solution after building up the paint in that deep chip. It will take several...

    Re: Coating Maintenance

Not required. People like to protect the protection but then you’re really not benefiting from the superior product underneath. I don’t top my coating and it’s been fine for 15 months now.

    Re: McKee's 37 SiO2 Series

    Yes, it was canceled.
FAST Interior Detailer is one of my favorite detailing products.
It smells so good and works great to keep the interior clean. I use it weekly. No sheen left behind, safe...
  10. Re: Mckees 37 Hi Intensity APC as traffic film remover?

    Re: McKee's 37 SiO2 Series

If they sell more from their own site they can increase their margins. They probably are known enough by now to grow on their own. I'm not sure what led to this decision but I bet McKee's 37 will...

Re: Did I get a deal?

If you do the washer mod the lube is not needed as it won’t touch the shroud anymore.

Re: Did I get a deal?

Good deal. Especially with that receipt. Otherwise I’d say the price is low enough that maybe it was stolen.

    Re: Review: WOLFGANG Iron Remover

It might not strip but will probably degrade it. I would save the iron remover to use it only before you apply the LSP again.

Re: And then... There was a G8 (Polisher)

Yes, they both have digital controllers that increase power as the machine detects resistance from the user applying more pressure. To keep pad spinning at the same speed the machine increases power...
  21. Re: What's in the box? Griots G8 Mini Random Orbital Polisher by Mike Phillips

Looks nice, can't wait to get mine. Hopefully later this month.
  22. Re: Carpro ech2o + Clarify + GlassFiber towel + GTechniq I2 Tri-Clean reviews

I gave my CarPro glass towel another shot this weekend and it worked pretty well. It's a larger than usual towel so you'll fold it but it's also a little stiff which makes it awkward to handle but...
  23. Re: Swap out backing plates or get multiple polishers?

I think for the home user a G9 is plenty good. No need for a 15mm polisher if you're not doing higher volume of cars. I have a G15 but only because the G9 wasn't available then. I think if I were...

Re: 2015 Impala with Gyeon Syncro (MOHS + Skin)

I've had good luck with Syncro. Installed it almost 15 months ago. Water behavior may not be as aggressive as it once was but it's still pretty good and clearly present (not so much on the hood...

    Re: Wolfgang DGPS alternatives?

Use WGDGPS and top it with Fuzion Wax (spray or paste). Looks so deep and wet.
