    Re: 2013 Ford Escape

The 2nd coat is in the books ... here are a few sun shots. There is still a decent amount of swirling, like I had mentioned, I went fairly light on the polishing - I could have gone a lot more...

    Re: Rim staining

Quick update ... I tried a small area by hand with the Ultimate Compound and it worked great. It is kind of labor intensive (on the fingers) though.

    Rim staining

Once the 2nd coat of Flex Wax is on, I need to turn my focus to the rims. They all have some staining on them that won't come off with an iron remover or APC. By HAND, a light polish started to...

    Re: 2013 Ford Escape

OK, so I was going to wait 24 hours after using the HS Polish & Wax, but life got in the way and it's been a week. But I finally got the first coat of TW Graphene Flex Wax applied today. It was a...

    2013 Ford Escape

So just over a week ago, the wife picked up a 2013, Ruby Red Ford Escape. It has just 59,000 miles and has almost every option except AWD. The only "bad" part of the car is the interior, which is...

Re: TW graphene flex wax use

One of the uses mentioned by TW is as a drying aid, so I see no issues in doing that.

    ALL MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!

The loan on the Camaro is PAID OFF!! It's all mine now!!
  10. Re: Question: Do you feel spray sealants provide adequate protection compared to traditional sealants?

"Ease of Use" is a big deal. If something is easy to use, then you are more likely to use it regularly and keep your LSP at full strength. If something is difficult to use, you either never use it...

  12. Re: Flex Wax , application method #2 (drying aid)

So do I. I think my smears are caused by a combination of things: over use and the sides drying so fast that there is not enough water on the panel, so I'm basically 'dry applying.'
  13. Flex Wax , application method #2 (drying aid)

Washed the car finally after getting it snowed on & driving through salty slush. During the initial rinse, the water beaded on the top surfaces and sheeted on the lower verticals. Once washed and...

Re: Anyone know how to fix this?

I'm not totally sure, but I think there is a clearcoat on the trim, you may have burned it off using the Uro pad with the compound. You could try a good trim coating, but I definitely wouldn't hit it...

Snow behavior on TW Graphene Flex Wax

Seeing as how it's Spring, we got 4" of heavy, wet snow last night here in Ohio. Since I was at work, my car was out in it and got covered. But comparing it to the other, non-maintained cars in the...
  16. Re: Chemical Guys MIC_808 Edgeless Microfiber Towel (Black 51" x 30")

I bought a 3-pack of Chemical Guys "Happy Ending" plush microfiber towels for sealant removal and have been very pleased with them. Soft, edgeless and non marring.

Re: Does everyone really need a $100+ DA buffer?

I've had my Porter Cable 7424 NON XP for almost 20 years. All I've ever had to to to it was replace the power cord about 2 years ago for a cost of $30 (done by a local repair shop). I bought the 5"...

Re: The Pan video...you know the one, discuss!

I will say that it was Pan who got me trying Turtle Wax with his Seal N Shine VS... video. Other than that, I think he's a bit (OK, a lot) goofy.

Re: New (to me) window cleaning method

I don't know, I don't have tint, so I didn't even think about it. If I *did* have tint, I would probably use a wet/VERY damp microfiber to work the cleaner around so It could dissolve/agitate the...

Re: New (to me) window cleaning method

For tint, I liked to use glass cleaner, wiped down with a wet(ish) towel (it doesn't suck up the cleaner right away like a dry one and gives the cleaner more dwell time on the glass, along with...

Re: New (to me) window cleaning method

Get a waffle weave designed for car drying, the Water Magnet was cheap and it absorbs a lot better than paper towels or terry cloth - and it's just the right size to do a car load of windows. My wife...

New (to me) window cleaning method

A while back I saw a video on You Tube where the detailer recommended using a Magic Eraser for glass cleaning. He used an IPA solution and microfibers and got great results.

    I have found that...

  25. Unexpected Update on Flex Wax (Graphene) durability

My car has been sitting in the garage since Wednesday, when I put the 2nd coat of Flex Wax on it. I pulled it out into the driveway to do the interior (I HATE interiors), and saw that a medium-sized...
