    A Compact/TriStar canister vac (can be found at garage sales for <$40 maybe $15 tops)

    do u use a turbo brush nozzle? it'll remove hair from carpets much faster than a regular brush. downside is you'll need 2 clean out the turbine & brush roller bearings
