Missing a piece for my Husky shop vac??

    See attached.

I purchased this 9 gallon wet/dry vac used and I bought dust bags for it but they clearly have no way of installing on the inside drum of the vac...

How the heck do I install a...
  3. Re: Can't remove wax or "off-gassing" on inside window

    Okey-doke.

Spoke to a very knowledgeable local tint guy, says it sounds like failure of the scratch-resistant clear coat. Previous owner probably cleaned it with Windex compromising the coating...
  4. Re: Can't remove wax or "off-gassing" on inside window

Worried I would immediately damage the tint in that scenario. Anyway, I've already tried a plastic scraper but since the glass curves inward i was only touching the edges of the scraper.
  5. Re: Can't remove wax or "off-gassing" on inside window

OK so nearly boiling hot water, dawn soap, and a MF towel (and even a cotton terry towel) did not help the situation. Looks exactly the same. It seemed like the crud would start appearing in clear...
  6. Re: Can't remove wax or "off-gassing" on inside window

Sounds fair! I'm going to attempt to use hot water and a MF with soap and hope the heat takes it off... Otherwise I'm going to a tint shop and see what they say.
  7. Re: Can't remove wax or "off-gassing" on inside window

Would you know if that's due to poor quality/installation? Car's only 7 years old.
  8. Re: Can't remove wax or "off-gassing" on inside window

Yes! It just gets pushed around when I try to clean it. Originally the glass looked pretty clean. I never waxed the inside but who knows, dealership may have before I purchased.
  9. Can't remove wax or "off-gassing" on inside window

    Hey Mike-

I decided to clean the inside windows (starting with front driver side...) spraying some ONR (QD ratio, 1:16) onto a blue shop towel, and as soon as I started to put some force on...

    Re: Compounds

    is this a joke?

how many times can you spell Meguiar's incorrectly? lol

i commend the amount of patience on this board!
  11. President's Choice MF kitchen towel for drying???

So I noticed that these PC-brand set of 2 MF kitchen towels have a waffle-weave pattern, and they felt exactly like my $19 (CAD) 20"x40" 70/30 Korean-made waffle weave towel...

    For $7.69 CAD there...
  12. Re: [WIP] My first correction! - 2011 Mazda 3 (Black)

So I drove my car into my dad's workshop and was able to bang out ~3 hours of compounding. Man, are those lower panels a pain in the back !

I also taped off a small area on the hood and decided to...

Re: My $3 DIY Grit Guard

Nope they are 16.99! It's definitely the best deal I've seen though - I may go ahead and purchase eventually as I'm using a non-circular mop bucket as my rinse and it'd be nice to be able to stack...

Re: My $3 DIY Grit Guard

Sorry guys, but in Canada we're looking at a min of $15 cad for these official plastic contraptions. $26 right now for CG's guard. $22 for the accessory that clips on lol. Prices from Amazon.ca btw

    My $3 DIY Grit Guard

Behold my beautiful creation using a plastic colander, a few zip ties, and a 3lb weight to keep it stable...

    What do you think?

  16. Re: What causes polish to dry out almost instantly?

Kevin Brown's method is to toss a spritz of H20 on the section if you notice your product is drying out. I tried it for the first time and it seemed to pull all of the excess product out of my foam...
  17. Re: [WIP] My first correction! - 2011 Mazda 3 (Black)

That's a great experiment. I will definitely need to try that out.
  18. Re: [WIP] My first correction! - 2011 Mazda 3 (Black)

OK! I had a feeling I'd have to polish. I'll definitely keep an eye open in Aug/Sept. I think I mostly skipped polish step since it was getting dark and I just wanted to get the wax on there since...
  19. [WIP] My first correction! - 2011 Mazda 3 (Black)

After getting some much needed assistant from Mr. Phillips on this forum, I've went ahead and completed the hood (well, nearly complete... waiting on my 3" plate & pads to finish the dropped sides)...
  20. Re: Compound not delivering expected results - What do I need to change?

OKAY! I made what I would consider my final test spot as I now believe I have gotten the technique down pretty well (Still sticking with Megs Ultimate Compound). I put a couple strips of painter's...
  21. Re: Compound not delivering expected results - What do I need to change?

Ah, I was clearly looking at an outdated autogeek chart lol. In fact, I just looked at a few popular Canadian online stores, and I'm pretty sure they just don't exist here
  22. Re: Compound not delivering expected results - What do I need to change?

I was confused because I looked up the LC pad colour chart and saw a pink-coloured (It's actually red) pad at the bottom of the list, just above their softest gold "jewelling" pad. It states it has...
  23. Re: Compound not delivering expected results - What do I need to change?

Not sure why I said 'pea-sized' - mine were definitely dime-sized!

I think you misunderstood - I meant I completed 4 section CYCLES; where I would stop, wipe and inspect after each...
  24. Re: Compound not delivering expected results - What do I need to change?

For some reason I cannot edit the posts I made on mobile...

Anyways, my quote above was referring to SabbyNJ's post:
  25. Re: Compound not delivering expected results - What do I need to change?

I am in agreement with you here. Just disappointed I couldn't get rid of some more!

Yeah I didn't use DS until the 3rd and 4th go at it (are these called section cycles?), as the pad was...
