Re: Easy way to restore black rims?

I bought a cheap drill kit with pads that I use on my black wheels with excellent results. I use meguiars ultra polishing wax and it does great but they also were not neglected....

    Re: AWE Chrome Tip Cleaning

I treat my tips the same as my paint, so a polish or compound if needed followed by protection.

The key is wiping them clean often and not letting the soot build up and cook on. I mist mine with...

Re: Chemical guys tire shine spray

Hey, thanks for the review. Which one did you use? They have so many different options.

I loathe sling, VRP is decent but not my favorite.

Re: Review: Collinite No. 845 Insulator Wax

Yeah, it won't happen until it gets out in the sun!

On a light colored car you'd never noticed, but you'll (hopefully not) see what I mean. It's frustrating to say the least. Like I said other...

Re: Review: Collinite No. 845 Insulator Wax

Yeah it washes right away or wipes with some QD, but imagine spending a day making the car perfect, then taking it out for a hot night on the town and it looks like you didn't wipe your wax off. Lol....

Re: Review: Collinite No. 845 Insulator Wax

It's a good wax, but I had to stop using it. The ghosting and re-hazing is beyond annoying. You'll realize that one that puppy get out in the sun and heats up.

    Re: A good AIO

I enjoy meguiars ultra polishing wax. HD Speed is also still a favorite. IMO meguiars makes the best AIOs from a cost/benefit perspective.

Tried zaino and I liked the results, but found it a pain...

Re: Milky staining on rims?? How bad is this?

It's more than likely from someone using harsh wheel cleaner on it when the wheels were hot and let it sit on too long, I've seen it before just like that.

I would use a compound and then...

Re: Subjective... Which Glads Cleaner is Best?

I use N-914 mixed with distilled water. I've had the best results that way, I don't even buy glass cleaner anymore with the exception of some sprayway from time to time.

D156 works great, I also like beadmaker and occasionally I will use a rinseless wash mixture.

Re: Let’s talk about polishing rims?

I polish mine! I treat my wheels exactly the same as I treat my paint.

Wheels take a lot more abuse than paint does.

I do agree that polishing certain wheels is a lost cause, but gloss black...

    Re: Paint splatter all over

Something similar happened to my wife last year. I was able to remove most with a power washer but it took some time, the rest I scraped off with a plastic razor blade and then polished the remaining...

Re: Does Anyone Still Use Detail Sprays?

Up until recently I was using a detail spray, but lately I've been using n-914 diluted with distilled water and I have been very pleased with the results and price/convenience as I go through a lot. ...
  17. Re: Can’t seem to get my wheel clean! Any suggestions would be great!

The barrels of my explorer ST black wheels were exactly like this when I got it. I tried cleaner waxes and polishes, didn't do it.

Like you, I ended up using steel wool and then buffing the...

Re: Any Chemical Sprayers that don't suck?

I had the same issue and gave up. I know use a pump garden sprayed with a gallon of wheel cleaner in it and zero issues for about 6 months and counting.

    Re: Product shelf life. Wolfgang

I left mine in the garage over winter (dumb) and it turned really thin. May have been still fine but wasn't taking any chances. Lesson learned.
