    Re: Jescar & Collinite

dlc95, totally agree about the UltraLock+. Jescar hit it out of the park with that one.

A week out, I'm getting all kinds of compliments on the 2x Ultralock+ and 1x Collinite 845 on my 911. The...

    Re: Jescar & Collinite

I was thinking Ultra Lock+ and Jescar Ceramic Spray Wax too, but it looks like the Spray Wax is "synthetic wax."

Depends what you're looking for, but I wanted a warmer, carnauba-like look. And...

    Re: Jescar & Collinite

Yes, it does. Actually a little easier. I just put two layers of it on my garage queen 911, about 24 hours apart. The gloss is better than Power Lock Plus too, to my eye.
  4. Re: Remove Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating?

After doing some more research, it seems that if you run a polisher over a matte/satin finish, it stops being a matte/satin finish.

That is, the properties of the finish that refract rather than...
  5. Remove Pinnacle Black Label Wheel Coating?

Is there a way to remove PBL Wheel Coating other than letting it wear off?

I had good results with it on a previous car, but it isn't working well on Porsche satin black forged wheels. (i.e. it...
  6. Re: Request for advice - Porsche 911 Jet Black paint

    Thanks again gentlemen.

In case helpful for others, I'm getting excellent results from Menzerna 3500 on LC white pads, four section passes normal pressure, then 2-4 light pressure to bring up the...
  7. Re: Request for advice - Porsche 911 Jet Black paint

Thanks Scanlon, a few things to think about there.

@Sizzle Chest, coating the plastics sounds like a good idea. Do you have a favorite for Porsche plastics? CQuartz DLux seems like a...
  8. Re: Coating questions? Do they degrade? Are you married to them? Can you go back to a wax or sealant?

I understand the wisdom of removing a coating with light polishing after a year or so, and re-applying. But what if part of the car has paint protection film installed?

I’ve read a few times that...
  9. Re: Request for advice - Porsche 911 Jet Black paint

Thank you Scanlon. So if you were aiming for depth and warmth, would you use Souveran over Powerlock or something else?

SF Bay Area shop for wheel coating?

    Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a shop in the SF Bay Area for coating a set of Porsche wheels?

These are centerlock wheels (911 GTS), so they require some specialized equipment to remove and...
  11. Re: Request for advice - Porsche 911 Jet Black paint

    Hi Zach,

    Thanks - here's what I have:

    - Menzerna 3500 and 3800

    - Flex 3401 DA polisher for large areas and Rupes LHR 75e DA polisher for small areas.

    - 3" and 5" LC pads in white, red...
  12. Request for advice - Porsche 911 Jet Black paint

    Hi all,

I recently traded in a Mineral Grey BMW 435i for a Jet Black Metallic Porsche 911.

On the 435i, I'd gotten good results with Menzerna SF-3500 (Lake Country white pads), then Menzerna...
