    Re: BeadMaker 50/50 dust test

Thank you for posting this test - very interesting. Its got me curious about the opposite - what products reduce dusting?

Re: Help with brown spots on my white paint!

I get these spots all the time on my white car. They are brutal but disappear with time under mysterious circumstances. I’m guessing fishOrfly is correct but you can also search ”pollen on white car”...

Re: Carpro Clarify - initial review

Thank you for posting this. I’ve been getting bad streaks as well. I wonder if it is from cleaning so “good” that it is partially removing the layer of ECH2O I had used on my vehicle in prior washes...

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Every once in a while I see a whale passing through there in Redondo. Nice ride/pictures.
  6. Re: gripaddict Thanks for the dislikes lol. Grow up and follow the rules of the forum

Perhaps this is off topic but it’s worth noting how much I enjoy this forum. Life is stressful and I find the discussions (and even arguments) about the smallest details relaxing. I’m a politically...

Re: New Car Napa leather maintanence?

Does it help with sunscreen? It seems Audi leather, in my limited experience, opens up its pores for sunscreen and then locks it in.

Re: New Car Napa leather maintanence?

I have the same car, same leather, 2019. I used carpro Cquartz leather. It made it slightly darker and does little to prevent the heavy sunscreen my family uses but water seems to bead slightly...
  9. Re: CQuartz UK applied with no prep work - how to best remove

This is very helpful - THANK YOU. All of the suggestions on this thread are going to help as I dive into it this weekend. I tried one round of the discontinued Griots Garage Paint Prep as I had it on...
  10. Re: CQuartz UK applied with no prep work - how to best remove

You're right on all counts. I'll purchase part of the nanoskin system (looks like they have a few good products). What makes all of this really bad is I paid someone a lot of money to do this.... It...
  11. Re: CQuartz UK applied with no prep work - how to best remove

Mother's is the only one I've tried. I'll order the Meguiars. Thank you for the tip.
  12. CQuartz UK applied with no prep work - how to best remove

I have tons of unused new polishing pads. Are there other negatives to polishing with contamination (I can see and feel it)? Perhaps throw the pads away after one panel/section?

    With regards to...
  13. Re: CQuartz UK applied with no prep work - how to best remove

I may have to try this or go straight to polishing as mentioned previously as using the clay bar is very very slow going.

  14. Re: CQuartz UK applied with no prep work - how to best remove

I was under the impression that the contamination would get smeared around and scratch the paint? Maybe I’m crazy.

  15. CQuartz UK applied with no prep work - how to best remove

It's too painful to describe how this happened but on a new white Audi CQuartz was applied yesterday with little to no prepwork beyond a basic car wash. I can see and feel contaminants in the paint....

    Re: Waffle microfiber cloth

This happens to me all the time. Drives me crazy. Thanks for pointing it out. Going to try to leave it a little less dry next time and see if I can avoid water/chemical/mineral/whatever stains,...

Re: Cquartz uk 3.9 and reload

I second this. For some reason I find it leaving more spots to remove than the previous version. Perhaps I’m using it wrong.

Re: Thoughts on cquartz uk 3.0

I always read about folks having issues removing cquk 2.0 (or whatever that now-last version is called) but it was always easy for me to remove after a few minutes.

    Regardless I’ve got about 10...

Re: Thoughts on cquartz uk 3.0

I tried using less after the feedback in this thread and it seemed to be easier to remove. I’ll try waiting a full minute as well. Seems like a good product.

Re: Thoughts on cquartz uk 3.0

    Temp: 65f
    humidity: 70%

I started to see the rainbow colors but I was only waiting about 30 seconds or so. I'll try letting it get closer to the two minute limit that they put on the bottle......

Re: Thoughts on cquartz uk 3.0

I've been using it for the past week or so on a six month old car and I can't tell the difference in appearance between it and the previous version (not to say there isn't any). I know it's supposed...
  22. Re: 67 Volkswagen bus in need of major cleaning/detailing questions

Fascinating. I had looked at this site years ago but had forgotten all about it. Thank you.
  23. Re: 67 Volkswagen bus in need of major cleaning/detailing questions

I agree with this. Going to just sell it. I had not heard of oldbug.com before - thank you.
  24. 67 Volkswagen bus in need of major cleaning/detailing questions

I’m selling a 67 Volkswagen bus to raise money for a honeymoon. As you’ll note in the pictures it is extremely dirty, rusty and needs upholstery repair… The van does not run (no engine) and requires...
  25. Re: Used a compound and orbital polisher and damaged aluminum (or alloy?) rims

Nice! I had no idea. Looking into it right now. Thank you.
