  1. Re: Before and after new tires cleaning and dressing

Guys, sorry to go off topic, but I can't see these pics. I'm using an old Chrome browser on an ancient (not supported) laptop running Redhat.
The images are from tapatalk, do I need an account...
  2. Poll: Re: Silica Spray Showdown: McKee's v. Gyeon v. CarPro

    Don't unmask until the end.

That's my vote for what it's worth.

  3. Re: Which more aggressive compound/polish might I need

Thanks, I'll just give the TSR (yet another acronym on this site! I've never seen a site with so many acronyms!). I had to research before I realized that TSR was the WG Swirl Remover that I...
  4. Which more aggressive compound/polish might I need

    Thanks in advance,

I'll be doing a exterior detail on my daughters 2014 focus in about a month.

I'm a newbie w/re DA polishing (I am very handy with all other sorts of tools, woodworking, metal...

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

I haven't posted to this thread before, but figured since danbro posted a picture of a white RAM, so could I.

Used WGDGPS on this guy yesterday.

  6. Re: First 2bm/decontaminate on the big truck (3 hours!)

I haven't cleaned it yet, I decided to try the Wolfsteins kit. I'll know how it holds up in a few months.

  7. Re: First 2bm/decontaminate on the big truck (3 hours!)

Dayton eh? Hey that's only 4+ hours from here! Get that shop built!!!! haha

BTW: nice trucks, my last truck was a F250 PowerStroke, I only put 240k+ miles on it before I decided it was time for...
  8. Re: First 2bm/decontaminate on the big truck (3 hours!)

    Update:

I washed again today (to remove any claying residue from yesterday). Then prepped the paint with WG Perfekt paint cleaner. Then sealed it with WGDGPS.

I feel a bit like the Karate...
  9. Re: First 2bm/decontaminate on the big truck (3 hours!)

I did the 'baggie' test today and it felt pretty bad. So I picked up some Maguires clay/lube and clayed my truck.

It is a lot smoother now. I 'think' it looks better, but it may just be my way...

Re: Quick spring detail on the Ram

I didn't notice your login name, or I'd have known it was a Cummins! :xyxthumbs:

  11. Re: First 2bm/decontaminate on the big truck (3 hours!)

Thanks, I was going about as fast as I could. Carrying all the rinse water from inside.

It's a 1 ton. I have a Power Washer, but this truck will rarely get its feet off the pavement, so will...

Re: Quick spring detail on the Ram

Nice. It's great that you can keep it garaged.

Is it a Cummins? What size camper do you pull?

I just got a 3500 Cummins/aisin/air level rear suspension this year to pull our 31' 5th wheel....

Re: New(ish) member from the (MI)tten

Hi Brandon, East of Flint here.

I'm new to detailing and new to the forum, looks like you've been on the forum for a couple years.

    Good luck with your business!

  14. First 2bm/decontaminate on the big truck (3 hours!)

    Hey guys,

Temperature was a sweltering 45F today, so i decided I had to wash the truck.

I picked it up on December 21st and it now has just under 2000 miles on it.

I took it to the self...
  15. Poll: Re: Silica Spray Showdown: McKee's v. Gyeon v. CarPro

    Excellent idea.

Not to add to your efforts, maybe keep a small diary of the weather (rain, snow, salt ...) that the vehicle sees during the test.

If there is a difference, it could be due to...

    Re: Newbie

Welcome, there is a TON of information here. So just use 3/4 of it with that little F250! haha

I found the forum in the same way after buying a 2017 Ram/Cummins 3500, I don't have to stop at 3/4...

    Re: Home speaker suggestions

I have Thiel fronts (nice but pricey, overkill for an echo).

I second the DT, I have a pair of their outdoor AW6500's that are impressive. I use them for my second zone (sun room/bar) most of...

    Re: Been struggling guys

    Jeremy,

I'm new to the forum, but not new to life haha.

Just know that our prayers are coming your way.

Also, work hard to focus on the good things and it will help, live in the moment and...

    Re: How do you choose.

I just went through the same decision processes. I haven't received all my stuff yet!

I settled on (for a start) Wolfgang products for paint/trim/tires. Mckees for Glass, Wolfsteins for vinly...
  21. Re: 2011 Cadillac Escalade - once in love with a tunnel wash

Amazing job! You need to tell the daughter not to let that happen to her new one! Maybe get a good customer out of it!

    Nicely done and nice pictures/post.

Just curious, how long did it take...
  22. Re: Are these the correct steps? (DD wash ... seal)

Another question I've searched for and can't answer.

Since I'll need to clean/seal my daughters car in late April and I'll need to do this outside, what is the low temp limit for the following...
  23. Re: Are these the correct steps? (DD wash ... seal)

Thanks again everyone. I'll definitely take some before/after photos.

BTW: I've always just washed using buckets (I have soft water in the house, but only hard water faucets outside).

    I'll be...
  24. Re: Are these the correct steps? (DD wash ... seal)

I appreciate that, but as absolutely filthy as this car is (it lives outside and is almost 100% driven in traffic with lots or rain/road crud). I just want to go slower to 'find the paint'. ...
  25. Re: Are these the correct steps? (DD wash ... seal)

    Thanks guys,

Paul_G, I'd watched the Wash/Dry video (multiple times). It seems these videos always START with a clean car compared to how filthy my daughters car always is when it comes home for...
