  1. Re: How do you store your MicroFibers and such?

Airtight plastic totes, so no dust gets in, ever.
  2. Re: Help: Can't take advantage of durable waxes/sealants due to dirty paint

I skipped the spray wax this week already and will continue to note if there are any improvements.

I'm using Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax, which is why I thought using another product from...
  3. Re: Help: Can't take advantage of durable waxes/sealants due to dirty paint

I guess I made the false assumption that everything just layered on top of another. I've been using D156 by the way.
  4. Re: Help: Can't take advantage of durable waxes/sealants due to dirty paint

Is the spray wax the culprit? Interesting, I'll give it a try, thanks.
  5. Help: Can't take advantage of durable waxes/sealants due to dirty paint

I'm dealing with single-stage white paint that gets visibly dirty after a month or so. It's a daily driver that gets a two-bucket OR waterless wash followed by a spray wax every week. A paint cleaner...

Re: Body shop installed scratches... Pic

Disgusting. I know some body shops that do a 360 degree confirmation with the customer of any obvious scratches/dents prior to working on a vehicle; this should be a standard.

Re: Well, AGO finally did it to me

Happy new year to you, too! How did you get your wife to tolerate your stockpiled products? Care to share any tips (hope this isn't an off-topic question)?

Re: Meguiars D156 Or Adam's Detail Spray?

D156, the gallon size is very affordable.
  11. Re: Hard time choosing a product duo for Pre-Waxing, polishing and waxing/sealing

I will also recommend UC and UP.
  12. Re: Hard time choosing a product duo for Pre-Waxing, polishing and waxing/sealing

Here's another combination for your consideration:

Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer (cleaner) + polish/compound paint correction products + Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 (sealant)

    Re: Big thanks to autogeek!

Great job! I'm a fellow apprentice of this forum too but not quite at your stage yet, so it's inspiring to see your results!
  14. Re: Your Favorite Spray Wax (synthetic / carnauba) for Direct Sun use

    D156 because of its versatility.
  15. Re: How long to wait before applying wax...?

Is it possible to attach photos of the final result? I'm sure that would help others assess what's possible for your next step.
  16. Re: How often should dirt build-up be polished?

I tested Iron X on a panel and boy is the smell horrible! And it leaves a trail of carcass odor everywhere I carry it... Oh well, the purple streaks confirmed that my car was indeed contaminated. I...
  17. Re: How often should dirt build-up be polished?

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I ordered some Carpro Iron X and Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer and will be testing these soon in my maintenance routine.

    I've never tried an iron...
  18. Re: How often should dirt build-up be polished?

No, I haven't. What's that fluorescent green product? Looks fascinating!

Okay, thanks. Without one of those expensive paint gauges, and because of a bad wet sanding experience in the past, I...
  19. Re: How often should dirt build-up be polished?

Thanks for the reassuring post, Eldorado2k. Your photos are very convincing. I will look into Carpro Reset after I deplete my supply of Gold Wash. Maybe my problem was not really sealing the deal...
  20. How often should dirt build-up be polished?

Seven years ago, Mike wrote an article on "The Lesson White Paint Teaches Us."

The lesson was that dirt accumulates on a car's finish over time and that "you need to either use a dedicated paint...
  21. Re: How often can I compound single stage paint before its gone?

This is what happens to single stage paint when left untouched for a while (see photo below). I skipped the compound this time, and the polish alone was sufficient in restoring the paint's natural...
  22. Re: How often can I compound single stage paint before its gone?

Interesting, I've never tried this product before. I will look into it. What would D151 replace or supplement in my typical claying/polishing/waxing process?
  23. Re: How often can I compound single stage paint before its gone?

Good question, I must have picked up somewhere that it was a good idea to do a complete decontamination each year, which I followed up with compounding and polishing. Guess I can skip the compound...
  24. Re: How often can I compound single stage paint before its gone?

I didn't realize that washing it would dull the color, but it's certainly not the brilliant ivory white it once was. Guess I'll just have to babysit this a little longer, until I have something else...
  25. How often can I compound single stage paint before its gone?

Hello all, I'm working on a second gen Honda CRV with single stage paint, which as I've learned here, uses a factory single stage paint that is thinner than paint with clear coat. Is compounding...
