Have you tried the Griot's crinkle glass towels? They're pretty nice. The crinkle weave helps keep the towel from folding over on itself and the flat weave on the other side gets rid of any streaks...

The tip is already rubberized. It is black so it blends in with the rest of the nozzle.

Several companies make matte specific coatings. Off the top of my head gyeon and mckee's 37 make one.

I've heard nothing but good things about that company, keep us posted on how it goes.

The Uberflex is a solid choice. Very flexible and lightweight, made in the USA. I used it for a while before upgrading my setup.
