  1. Re: Is Traffic Film a reason to not top off Sealant after a wash?

I like to use oil based drying aids specifically for this reason. The solvents will help clean oil based residue from the paint. Using the optiseal will help. I've started to use and prefer 10min....

Re: Problem with Opti Seal ?......

Hydro blue will be far more durable. Mckee's 10 min. Sealant is a much better option than optiseal.

Re: Wax and water spots question..

    Re: Super slick QD/drying aid?

Loving McKee's 10 min. Sealant right now. Optiseal is another good choice.

Working well for me on top of Wolfgang coating. Also a good drying aid.

Re: Opti Seal or??? And application Question

Spray directly on the panel. 2 sprays typically per panel.

I'm currently using McKee’s 10 min sealant and liking it very much, but does have bit of a chemical smell. Optiseal is water clear with...

Optimum. Cost effective, easy to use, with great results.
  10. Re: Griot's PFM towels less absorbant... what did I do?

Towel kleen is only a pH of about 8 as I recall when I tested it. Would recommend a presoak of water based degreaser with Oxiclean for a few hours, and wash with same.

This is how I'm now washing...

Re: Looking for a quality interior detail spray

GG rinseless at 1oz to a gallon. Leaves a matte finish.
  12. Re: Moving away from consumer to fewer bulk products.

Skip the D120 and get this instead. It works great for wipers and in a spray bottle.

Re: Engine bay dressing-- what do you use?

I just used Meg's UFF and it did a great job. Mckee's 37 waterless wash also works well for me.

    Re: Foams soap?

I like to use a foam Cannon but I've yet to find a pH neutral soap that does much. My favorite is a residue free laundry detergent that is about pH 10. This even attacks break dust and doesn't...

Re: Wax or sealant for daughter

Optiseal and /or Optimum car wax. Both easy to use with little smell and difficult to mess up.

    Doesn't get easier than optiseal.

PiPUK, thanks for posting such great information!

I'm not a chemist but have studied lubricants quite a bit. What you are saying about the behavior of surfactants makes perfect sense.

Re: Daily Driver Best Protecting Wax

Meguiar's UFF. Very durable and easy to use. Can boost with optimum car wax.

Can't imagine using a hazing type wax or sealant anymore.
  24. Re: Trying to decide between Meg's D101 and Optimum Power Clean

No argument from me on price, that's why I said OPC is expensive.

D101 cleans fine but the smell and poor rinse-ability makes it a no go for me.
  25. Re: Trying to decide between Meg's D101 and Optimum Power Clean

D101 is nasty stuff and foams like crazy. About the only thing I use it for is to clean the BRS or presoaking micro fiber.

OPC is very effective but also spendy . Needs lower dilution ratios.
