    Re: Car hit with overspray

I actually have finished the car with the Lift Off. I did the whole car panel by panel, and it worked well.

    Re: Car hit with overspray

I tried my Nanoskin sponge, but it clogged very quickly. I didn't try regular clay.

    Car hit with overspray

I mentioned to my wife that her car looked really dirty the other day, and then figured out that it got hit with some sort of paint overspray in a parking garage or alley. I tried APC and fingernail...

    Re: Griot's Leather 3 n 1 Splotchiness

It's funny that the Griot's didn't work. I've had good luck with their other products.

    Re: Griot's Leather 3 n 1 Splotchiness

    Hi ryansmk7,
I have a 2015 GTI as well (and love it!), and have used Meguiars Gold Class Leather Conditioner spray with good results. A little slippery for a couple of days, but looks great.

    Re: the best spray wax

Just tried some Duragloss Aquawax, and was very impressed. Easy to use, and leaves a nice gloss. It seems to attract less dust than I'm used to.
  7. Re: Applying Coating with TORCH? What's the purpose?

Agreed. I think that this had to do more about "fogged" clear coat. But I may have dreamed it!

    Edit - here's the forum link. ...
  8. Re: Applying Coating with TORCH? What's the purpose?

Can't you use heat to correct some clear coat issues? I think I remember something about that.
  9. Re: Would Reverse Osmosis water be ok to wash a car with?

Would a blend using part tap water and part RO, Distilled or Deionized water give the best of both worlds? Our water is fairly hard.

Also, I've been using distilled water to mix my Sonax Clear...

    Re: 89 Mustang Paint Correction?

CarPro recommends testing a spot before using on single stage paint. Apparently it can dissolve some paints.

    Re: Ceramic coating vs sealant.

Oops. I was confusing AIO with regular sealant. Thanks!

    Re: Ceramic coating vs sealant.

I understand that, but I wish they would magically disappear! When I said re-coated, I meant that an AIO sealant can be layered like a wax using a DA if needed.

    Re: Ceramic coating vs sealant.

    Hi Daniel,
Since I am new at this, take this with a grain of salt! The AIO seems to take out minor swirls, but anything heavy is left behind. I'm using a light cut finishing pad with medium...

    Re: Ceramic coating vs sealant.

Well, I do like the GG One Step. I think that I'll run a test to compare dust attraction using the GG One Step as a base. Then I'll use GG Paint Sealant on one area, Natty's White paste on another,...

    Re: Ceramic coating vs sealant.

I think that the difference is in the sealant vs ceramic coating. A sealant is sort of a synthetic wax which is not as hard as the clear coat. A ceramic coating is very hard, similar to the clear...

Is there a way to tell if the orange peel on my '15 VW GTI is in the base coat or the clear coat?

    Re: Ceramic coating vs sealant.

Great info everyone. I think that I'll probably stick with method I've been using, and try to be more careful with the cover. But when we sell the house in a few years...

    Re: Ceramic coating vs sealant.

    Thanks ekennett,
I'll be keeping the cover (which I wash regularly) to keep critters and sap off! No garage space, no room for a carport.

    Ceramic coating vs sealant.

I've been using GG AIO and Paint Sealant on my Night Blue GTI, and in general it looks great. Since this is a DD and I usually cover it at night (after a careful dust removal), I do see some minor...
