    Ryobi 18v Orbital Polisher

Does anyone know anything about this (see Home Depot's site for the specs)? I couldn't find anything anywhere else here about anyone even hinting at it. This just popped up in my Instagram feed...

    Re: Logo Design

Hire a professional, not cut rate hacks who are devaluing the work done by real designers.

It's no different than a scrub detailer doing full details for $25. Everyone would rail on devaluing the...
  3. Re: Jescar Power Lock Plus same as Menzerna Power Lock

Sealant, then wax is the common technique for layering.
  4. Re: Okay why has everyone been keeping the Jescar Power Lock Plus a secret from me?

I think you answered your own question. I would personally never do any car in direct sunlight, let alone a black car. Hot surface temps would make removing any product difficult. I know some...
  5. Re: Okay why has everyone been keeping the Jescar Power Lock Plus a secret from me?

These photos are all arbitrary, but this is a Jescar polish and PowerLock+ on this Magnetic Grey Mustang GT... it was pretty stunning when it was done.

  6. Re: Okay why has everyone been keeping the Jescar Power Lock Plus a secret from me?

I think they are 1a and 1b of the usual suspects. From my experience, they are both exceptional sealants and give very similar results. Can’t go wrong with either.
  7. Re: Okay why has everyone been keeping the Jescar Power Lock Plus a secret from me?

Yup! I keep it in a 32oz spray bottle as well as an 8oz squirt bottle, as well.
  8. Re: Okay why has everyone been keeping the Jescar Power Lock Plus a secret from me?

Try Klean-Strip Prep-All from a local auto parts store or Amazon. Should be about $25 a gallon. They may even carry it at HD or other big box hardware stores.

Honestly, it’s one of those products...
  9. Re: Okay why has everyone been keeping the Jescar Power Lock Plus a secret from me?

FWIW, I machine apply with a super soft pad, then let the car sit for at least 20 minutes. With a clean thick microfiber, just wipe it off. It’s literally that easy.

The only downside is that it...
  10. Re: Okay why has everyone been keeping the Jescar Power Lock Plus a secret from me?

    Yeah, really good stuff.

I don't use wax at all anymore, unless I'm doing a show car garage queen.

    Re: Business Logo

Speaking as a designer, might I recommend hiring a professional freelance designer to represent your business? Just as someone would hire you to professionally detail their vehicle, you should not...

    Re: Tar Covered Subaru BRZ

The story from the owner was that a local road was being resurfaced, and had just been freshly oiled for the top coat of asphalt, and (typical for our area) there was no signage or construction...

Re: nanoskin mitt or nanoskin pad ??

Not a stupid question at all, they are really tough to store. I went through different options from spraying it in detailer and sealing it in an inflated Zip Lock bag to putting it in a plastic case....

Re: To the people who have Detail Guardz...

That actually makes it worse for getting the cords caught under the tires, but it does keep it from unplugging.

Re: nanoskin mitt or nanoskin pad ??

I use a 6" Nanoskin DA pad on a velcro hand strap applicator. It's the best of both worlds, where i have a 6" pad to use on a DA if I need to, or I attach the pad to the hand backing while I'm...

Re: Not tar this time... it's worse.

    Good suggestions.

    Sister-in-law = gratis
I don't charge family for work. Which is also why I didn't do anything too extreme or damaging to my tools. I will have an opportunity to attack it...

Re: Not tar this time... it's worse.

Oh yeah, I lied. I must have blocked this out of my memory banks.

When I was in my late teens, I spent my summers painting R/C bodies, VANS sneakers, helmets and anything else someone wanted me to...

Re: Not tar this time... it's worse.

I'll see if I can find Xenit tomorrow at the local True Value hardware store. Not many other places around carry it. Not sure if the methods that I just read about differ too much from...

Re: Not tar this time... it's worse.

Yeah, it sucked. After a 10 hour detail yesterday on an Imola Red E46 M3, I was already wiped out. Good thing this Fusion is my sister in-law's car, and considering I got all of the stains and spills...

Not tar this time... it's worse.

Hey gang, I need some help. I was absolutely stumped today by a car in the shop.

After my last success with a completely tar covered Subaru BRZ, I figured I had a pretty good grasp on what was...

Re: An observation I’ve just observed

The people in the drive-through certainly don't care about what they put in their bodies, why would they care about the finish of their cars?

Re: Nick @ McKee's Just Did Me A Solid

Same story with me. He gave me a really good lasting impression of McKee's, and I will continue to choose their products over other brands when there is an apples to apples choice. Nick definitely...

    Re: Tar Covered Subaru BRZ

Not water-based, so not rinsing with water at all.

Tarminator: spray, dwell, wipe until removed.

Kerosene: spray, dwell, wipe and wipe some more. spray, wipe. spray, wipe until removed.

As suggested by someone in the previously linked post on tar, I also tried 3M Decal & Adhesive Remover, and it works wickedly good, but it's just too damn expensive to justify using it over...

    Re: Tar Covered Subaru BRZ

    I love it.

I'd have to do a LOT of tar babies to justify 5 gallons of bug juice. That's a BIG bucket!
