Need Help Polishing out Jet Skis

We just recently got a pair of used 2008 Sea Doo RXT-X Wave Runners. The beasts have 255 horse power and will take you for a real ride. I decided though that the exterior needed to match the...
  2. Re: Coatings, if you had the choice and money was not an issue

If money is no object then I would have it transported to the UK and have Topaz Detailing take care of it. My understanding is that they are the best in the world.

    Re: $195 minimums

I understand that I have to wait for payment to clear, however with my debit card it clears just as fast as anything else, and it clears right away. I also understand that there might be hundreds of...

    Re: $195 minimums

What frustrates me the most with Autogeek shipping is when I placed an order with a value of $775 on a Saturday and it took them till Thursday to ship it. I understand it's a large order, but 4 days...

Re: LHR 15 Mark II Problem

I just have to ask have you tested it with the rupes pads? Also do you have put a line on your backing plate to know when it starts stalling?

Re: starting to regret my Mark 2 purchase

I know that m105 and m205 are solvent based products and the rupes pads are designed to be used with water based polishes. The rupes pads I have had no problem polishing a Tacoma this weekend. I only...

    Re: Microfiber cutting pads

I have tried both the meguires microfiber and the rupes foam and I like them both pretty equally. The microfiber doesn't really sling or dust as much but does leave a DA haze. The rupes dusts a lot...

Re: Rupes Pad - prime or not

I think it also needs to be stated what size pad you are using. As on the 100mm pads I use 2 drops then 1 till I switch, but I on the 170mm pads I'll use like 5-6 drops, and then 3 till I switch.
  9. Re: Finally using Rupes as the system intended..

On my car which was neglected for the first 9 out of 10 years of its life I have polished it using the blue pad and then going straight to white to make it extra beautiful. It's and 05 Toyota Camry,...

    Re: New F150 King Ranch

Your best bet would to test it in an inconspicuous spot first. Maybe the bottom of the metal and just see if there's any problems with it. Then once you know either way you can take the correct...

    Re: microfiber question

It could also possibly be that the paint is so soft that you will need to do a further jeweling step to remove those marks. This could happen if it is DA haza. Just a thought though.

    Picking the right Rupes pads

It's my understanding that the blue rupes pad should be used for correcting heavy oxidation and deep swirls/rids. Then you can use the green pad for swirls too. The white pad can also be used for...
  13. Re: 15% Off No Exclusions Through Sunday Night!

I was glad that there was the 15% off sale. I made a purchase of over $600 so I might have gone a little overboard. I got a rupes mini as well as pads for it and my 21 plus other misc. stuff.

    Re: Product for cleaning windows?

You don't want to use ammonia as it can mess with window tint that is installed aftermarket (almost all)

Re: Paint issue after polishing - white haze

While I am definitely not an expert it almost looks like you need to do another pass with a jewelers Polish. Other than that I don't know what to say.
  17. Re: Using a hair dryer instead of a compressor to clean pads?

You can always pressurize them in the garage with the garage doors closed and then just only use it when you need it. Ideally it won't leak much and you should only have to do that once. Another...
  18. Re: Using a hair dryer instead of a compressor to clean pads?

You can look for a good used pancake compressor on Craigslist for like $50. That's not that much to spend on one and once you have it you will find many more uses for it.

    Re: 3D curious!

What's he difference between SMAT and DAT polishes. I still have yet to polish my first car as I want to make sure I know as much as I can before I take on the endeavor.
  20. Re: Chrome wheel protection and care for truck

Now that I think of it Flitz has a chrome wheel cleaner that Mike has done a video with and the results were amazing.
  21. Re: Chrome wheel protection and care for truck

Meguiares has some metal polishes that they sell on AGO. Chemical guys has some too that I believe is sold at AGO. I haven't used either of them though as none of my wheels are chrome.

    Re: Product for cleaning windows?

The 2 towel method is applying the glass cleaner with one microfiber (wet one) and then removing any streaks with another one (dry one). You can also sometimes get away by folding the towel into 4's...

    Re: New guy from kentucky

The Griots Garage 6" polisher is the best "beginner" polisher. Larry Kosilla even used them for many years until he started polishing with Rupes. He will even still use the GG occasionally. If you...
